This week I’m doing something a little different on Five on Friday. As I have been trying to grow my blog, I’ve been taking a close look at posts, and which of my posts do well (and which ones don’t). So, today, I wanted to share my five top posts of all time (well at least since I switched over to WordPress and installed Google Analytics, so the range is from January 1, 2015- present). Also, did you know you can look at the source for individual posts with Google Analyitics? I’m planning on doing a post next week to explain it, but it’s really easy! 🙂 I’ve included the screen shot of each individual post to show where the traffic came from,
FIVE: Edible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
This was posted on April 27, 2017 and has received 1,956 page views. Since it was posted not so long ago, I am surprised that it made the list, as I had other posts I thought would be higher. I think it goes to show that people really like sweets. This is also evergreen material (meaning that it isn’t seasonal) which helps.
So I am totally surpised that this made the list! I posted it September of 2015, so it has been around for almost two years (which is crazy to me, since I can’t believe that picture was taken two years ago). It has 2,158 views, and 148 repins. However, if you type DIY nursing maternity gown into Pinterst, this is the first to show up. Once again it is evergreen content, as people are pregnant during every season.
THREE: Edible Funfetti Cookie Dough
Man, this post is from waaaayy back in the day. Like waaaay back. It was one of the first things from my blog I put on Pinterest, back in April of 2014. It’s been viewed 4,913 times, and has been repined a total of 2k times. It was my first pin to reach 1k, and way before I really understood what made a good pin, so I’m pretty proud. I thought for sure this would be higher on the list. I also think the stats on this are a bit different, since it was originally posted with I was Sundaes and Spaghetti.
These muffins are so tasty, I make them all the time! I posted this July of 2016, and it has been viewed 6,974 times, 1.5k repins. Once again, the post is food (are you noticing a trend) and evergreen content.
And my highest viewed post is my Grilled Chicken Nachos coming in at 9,781 views! Since it was published August of 2017, it really blows the rest of the views out of the water. This was a sponsored post, and Social Fabric must have promoted it, which is where almost alllll of the traffic came from. I totally wasn’t expecting anything like that to ever happen, so it goes to show you never know!
