In the words of Annabelle “Phew. We made it”.
Friends this week (well the past few really) have been kicking my butt. With Annabelle go to school three 1/2 days, then trying to schedule speech, dance, and swimming… it’s enough to make my head spin. Not to mention doctor appointments. The past two weeks there has been something scheduled every day. Last week the girls and I went to a neighbor’s on Friday afternoon for a play date, and my friends were like “wow, you look beat”.
Yes. Yes, I am. That’s why it’s been a bit quiet on the blog and all my social media accounts. I’m hoping I get into the swing of things soon!
At any rate, we made it to Friday, and I’m excited to be joining Beth Crystal Beth, Jessica, Stephanie to join in their new monthly link-up Five things that Bring me Joy. With out further adiu:
ONE: The Apple Orchard
It’s not secret that I love the apple orchard. Last week we went to the orchard with my parents. I’ve been going to this orchard since I was about four years, so I love that I can now take my girls.
TWO: Books
As a former teacher I have a big love for books. There is just something about a new book that brings a smile to my face. That’s why I am excited to announce I’m having an online Usborne book party next week! On Tuesday September 26th join me on Facebook (from the comfort of your own home), and shop around! Natalie (of At Home with Natalie) is helping me throw it and it should be great! I’d love to invite all my readers to join in the fun! Here is the link to the party! Join in and get the chance to win some free books!
THREE: Cake
I love cake. I love eating it. I love decorating them. We celebrated Autumn’s second birthday this week, just the four of us. Since I didn’t need a huge cake, I baked a little one using ramekins. I then tried my hand at making my buttercream icing look smooth, and I didn’t do a 1/2 bad job if you ask me.
FOUR: Sewing
Sewing as taken a back seat here for a little while, but I’m starting up again! I have almost finished a Halloween dress for Annabelle, and will be making one for Autumn as well. It’s so much fun watching how the fabric comes together to form awesome projects!
A picture of the girls at preschool drop off this week, in dresses I made. Me thinks they are confused about what holiday is coming up.
FIVE: Spending time with Annabelle
One cool thing about Annabelle’s preschool is that it is a co-op. That means that parents work in the classroom 1-2 times a month. I got to hang out with her on Monday, and will be hanging again today!
It’s a blurry picture, but she was more concerned about playing than taking a selfie with mom.
I am also joining with my other normal Five on Friday link ups! 🙂
