I am so excited to share this with you today! I’ve been wanting to add a little more St. Patrick’s Day décor to our house, so I made this sign. It is super simple to do and I am giving you a free luck of the Irish graphic to do with it what you’d like. Keep in mind if you want to use it to make a shirt you will have to mirror the image.
Materials needed for free luck of the Irish graphic sign
- Piece of wood (11.5″ x 5″)
- Free download
- Paint
- Foam paint bushes
- Oracal 813 Stencil paper
- Silhouette (or other cutting machine)
**I am linking the newest Silhouette, the Cameo 4. I have the Cameo 3, and have not used the the 4. If Silhouette is reading this, and wants to collaborate, I’d be more than happy too. 😉 **
Step one:
Paint your piece of wood. I went with white, but I think it would look super fun with a green background and white and gold writing.
Step two:
Cut and weed your stencil. Remember if you are thinking of using this to do a shirt mirror the image.
Step three:
Place transfer tape (or contact paper) on top of your stencil. Be sure to press down to insure it is stuck on the tape. Then pull the backing off the the stencil.
Step four:
Now you can place the stencil on your piece of wood. Be sure to press down, and smooth it all off. Then take the transfer tape off.
Step five:
Paint it however you would like. I mixed some glue with the gold paint and then sprinkled glitter (yes I’m a bit crazy) on the word luck.
Step six:
After it has dried, pull the stencil off and admire your sign!
