I hope that everyone had a great weekend. If you follow me on IG then you may have seen that we installed the floor in the playroom downstairs!! We are one step closer to getting a room where they girls can play, and it won’t drive me insane all day if they make a mess. I also made this super simple DIY tissue paper pom pom garland that would be great for St. Patrick’s Day decorations.
Step One: Fold tissue paper
Fold a piece of tissue paper into eight sections.
Cut those sections apart so you have eight pieces.
Step Two: fan fold
Stack all the tissue paper into a pile and accordion fold them ( you know, like you are making a fan).
Step Three: Cut the tissue paper
Cut the tissue paper in half.
Step Four: Repeat with the other colors
Repeat with all the other colors.
Step Five: Tie onto a string
Take a long piece of string (or yarn, or ribbon) and tie each tissue paper fan around the middle. Be sure to leave enough space so that when you fan out the pom poms they have room.
Step Six: Round the edges
Round each edge of the fan. I meant to to do this before I tied them onto the string, but thankfully it worked fine like this.
Step Seven: Start fanning the DIY tissue paper pom pom garland
Now you can start opening your poms. Simply start pulling the layers apart. You will want to be be gentle so the tissue paper doesn’t rip. When you are done, admire your work!
I really want to make a mini DIY tissue paper pom pom garland like this as well. I think it would look so fun on a St. Patrick’s Day tiered tray! Really there are so many fun ways to use garland like this. And, since I bought a multi pack from the dollar store it’s super cheap too.
