This week it’s time for another addition of Five on Friday. And since this is the fourth Friday of the month, this one is dedicated to five things that Bring me joy. I love this post, since it reminds me to be joyful. Sometimes when you’re in the trenched of parenthood you can loose site of the good in life. I really believe that you can always find joy in life if you look around.
And this week, I totally lacked in the picture department. I was looking back at my phone, and my pictures for March are seriously lacking. I am trying to be more in the moment, which means I don’t always have my phone on me.
ONE: Creating
This month I have gotten a lot of crafting in. Mainly because of Annabelle’s Birthday (you can read more about that here). Be it sewing, cooking, chalkboard-ing (that’s a word right??), I love doing it. Seeing how everything comes together is just so much fun.
TWO: Friends
Friends always bring me joy. I am a major people person and being around others just makes me smile. I had a neighbor and her daughter over for dinner while her husband was on a trip, and it was great. The girls played, and we chatted. Yesterday I had a play date with some ladies from the Detroit Moms Blog, and next week I have a MNO.
THREE: Warmer weather (maybe…)
I think the weather is finally getting warmer around here, and that we are done with snow. But this is Michigan, so you never know.
I can’t wait to see the sun more, and to spend some time outside in it. Last week we had a warm Sunday , and it was so nice to go play at the park. Maybe the warmer weather will also help my hands not be so crazy dry.
FOUR: When I actually look nice
Ok, hear me out. I am not exactly the most fashion forward person. My outfit usually consists of jeans and a sweater or long sleeved shirt. Some days though, I am pretty proud of the outfits I put together (and yes, I snapped a the left picture at church. Our full length mirror broke a few months ago, so I can’t do that at home).
FIVE: Our mail carrier
Ok, so this may sound strange, but I really like one of the mail carriers we have. Our mailboxes are at the end of the driveway, so the mail person doesn’t have to walk to our house to deliver the mail. We get lots of packages (that Matt orders, not me), which won’t fit in the mailbox, so the mail person has to bring them to our house. When she does, she always brings the mail up as well. In the past the carriers would only bring up the package and still put the mail in the mailbox. It’s nice to not have to go out to the mailbox to get the mail when we get a package.
What about you? What’s been bringing you joy?
