I feel like the month of December is just flying by! I swear I was just sitting down to write my bucket list, and now its 5 (!?!?) days until Christmas. I decided I better do a check in before Christmas is over!
So, I have to say, I think I have been doing a pretty good job!
If you read this post, then you know that Annabelle and I made salt dough ornaments. It’s really easy to do, and I like the fact that I have homemade ornaments for when the girls get older.
While we were making them, Rover (the cat that visits us from time to time) came to say hi. Autumn was pretty excited about it.
We did a lot of baking (and I still have two types of cookies I want to make). Most of the baking we did up north over Thanksgiving. One of the benefits of living in MI is that I can store the cookies outside in the garage since its so cold. I brought a plate of cookies to a get together, and here they are.
We also had lots of fun making a gingerbread house. Check back, later today, since I’ll give instructions on how we made it, along with more pictures.
The moms club I am a part of has a Christmas party every year. Santa comes and takes pictures (for free) with all of the kids. It’s super nice to not have to worry about the lines at the mall, and to not pay an arm and an leg to get a picture that may or may not turn out. I was soooo surpised at how cool Autumn was with Santa (since she’s usually pretty “I won’t look at you” with strangers). I put her down to help Annabelle with her coat, and Autumn just crawled right up to Santa.
Do you know what else I love about this Santa? It’s the same one every year! Just take a look at some of the past pictures.
As is our tradition, Matt and I watched Die Hard (with out the girls of course), since it is a Christmas movie ;). Annabelle and I watched the Polar Express as well as How the Grinch Stole Christmas so we did a good job on that. All that’s left for the movies is Elf, and I’ll have to watch that on my own, since Matt hates it (he cray-cray, right??).
We’ve gotten a lot of snow, and the girls (well Annabelle) have loved playing in it.
We tried to build a snowman, but it wasn’t quite packing snow yet.
One of my favorite pictures from our time out side is the following one. I just love how the snowflakes are melting on Autumn’s eye lashes.
So, all that’s left to do is watch Elf, and eat a North Pole Breakfast!
Do you have a bucket list? How is yours going??
