Two summers ago I threw my mom a sweet surprise party. In the center of each table I had fun centerpieces which included tulle puffs. As soon the party was over the girls promptly took them to use as magic wands. They do make pretty fun magic wands, so I figured it would be fun to have and easy homemade tulle wand for them to play with for Halloween.
Materials
- Tulle of your choice (the easiest is the stuff in rolls)
- Bamboo skewers
- Ribbon
- Hot glue
Step One:
First you need to cut your tulle. I used four colors (purple, black, orange, and sparkle orange), and cut each color into a 36 inch strips. If you are only using one color then you want to make sure your strip is about 144″ of tulle (36″ X 4= 144″)
Step Two: Layer the Tulle
I then layered the the colors one on top of the other.
Step Three: wrap the tulle
Cut a piece of cardboard about 6″ long.
Wrap your tulle around the cardboard.
Step Four: Tie and cut the tulle
After the tulle is wrapped, slide the cardboard out and tie the tulle around the center.
Cut the loops of the tulle. Fluff it out.
Step 5: Add ribbon to the skewer
Add whatever ribbon you want to the skewer.
Step 6: Attach pompom
Using copious amounts of hot glue attach the pompom to the skewer. Then wrap the skewer handle with ribbon (not pictured).
