I hope that everyone is doing well this Monday. L’shanah tovah to those celebrating Rosh Hashanah! Since Annabelle has the day off (but we don’t celebrate Rosh Hashanah) we are heading to the apple orchard today (as long as the weather cooperates, as I write this rain is predicted). Which brings me to this amazing post, 10 Fall Must Haves, which I am linking up with Erin of Simple Purposeful Living.
So what are my 10 Fall Must Haves?
One: A Trip to the Apple Orchard/ Cider Mill
Or two, or three trips. Really, I love the apple orchard. Nothing tastes better than an apple fresh off the tree, and cider and donuts? Yes please!! Last year I think I went to four different orchards/mills (one we hit up twice).
A few pictures from years past.
Year 2013 with sweet baby Annabelle
Year 2014
Year 2015…I’m quite pregnant with Autumn… I believe I had her twoish weeks after this picture was taken?
Year 2016
And yes Annabelle is still wearing a patch (to help correct lazy eye and build muscle strength) in this photo (like she was in 2014)… she still has to wear one 2-3 hours a day, and I am hoping we are almost done with it.
Year 2017
I just love how this one turned out so much! I will have to try to recreate it this year.
Two: Salted Caramel Mocha plus my Mug
You all can keep your PSL. I hope I don’t lose any readers here, but I can’t stand them! I’ve tried one every year the past few years, and each time, I ask myself “why? Why do this to yourself”. I’m going to go ahead and skip it this year and go right to the SCM. Can we make #SCM a thing?? Pretty please??
And, when I make them at home, I always drink them in my mug I got in the Mug Exchange I took part of in 2017. I was paired with the awesome Lindsay of Lindsay’s Sweet World. If you want to check out more of what I got, then head to this post.
Three: Salted Caramel anything
Who am I kidding?? I love salted caramel in most things. That’s why I make my own salted caramel sauce at home.  Not only do
I use it in my coffee, but also in so many baked items! Like this peachy apple bake. Be sure to come back on Wednesday when I share a yummy recipe!
Four: Hocus Pocus
What fall season is complete without watching Hocus Pocus?
My husband does not share my love of it, so I am usually watching it alone. Maybe I’ll have a watch party with friends….
Five: Jeans and a graphic tee (and maybe a sweater)
I love when the weather cools down enough to wear jeans. I’m also a fan of graphic tees (if you missed it, I created a fun list of maternity graphic tees that you can check out here).  I’m also planning on making a few of my own, so be sure to check back in a few weeks as I’ll be giving you some cut files for free to download. It’s just so cute and comfy. Then when it gets a little colder, throw an open front sweater. Stay warm, and still see the t-shirt.
Come check out what my ten fall staples are! #fall #motherhood Click To TweetSix: Football
Can I really talk about fall without football? No. No I can not. We love cheering on the Spartans, and the Lions. 🙂
Seven: Brown Boots
I got some brown boots last year and can’t wait to wear them again! I was able to bust them out for church (and yes, I took a picture at church. They have a full length mirror, I do not) yesterday, and can’t wait to wear them more. I’m hoping with leggings and a long tunic or sweater to cover my tush. 😉
Eight: Flannel Shirt
Last year I bought a flannel shirt on sale from Target. I wear it all the time in the fall. It looks super cute with a solid tee, or with a graphic tee.
PS… this picture is obviously from last year… before I was pregnant….
Nine: Crock Pot
Is it even fall if you you don’t bust out your crock pot?? I probably use it about once a week, because it is just so easy!
If you are looking for some new meals to include, you can check out this chili.
I also made some mulled Apple Cider Sangria last year which was super tasty.
Ten: Fall/ Halloween Books
If you didn’t know this, I used to be a teacher before becoming a SAHM. That means I have looooots of holiday and seasonal books that I bring out.
My all time favorite is Room on the Broom. My girls both love it, and Annabelle can almost read the whole thing by herself. I’m thinking of trying to make some simple felt pieces to go with it, so that the girls can tell the story using the pieces.
It was so hard to just chose 10 essential things for Fall. I mean of course there is everything to do with Halloween and Thanksgiving. There’s playing in the leaves. I just love fall.
So what about you? Do you love fall as much as I do? Come and link up your ten essential fall items!
