I think we can all agree that March has been pretty crazy. Just when I started to find my rhythm again, shit hit the fan, and it hit hard.
Here in MI we have been out of school since March 16th, and on “shelter in place” since the 17th or 18th (to be honest I don’t really remember since we hadn’t been going anywhere anyways). With the girls home all the time, trying to stay on top of Google classroom, and attempting to include educational activities in our day, it’s been hard to sit down and think (as is evident by my lack of posts and commenting on fellow bloggers posts). The fact that Annabelle and Autumn are usually up at 6:30 A.M. doesn’t help either.
But for the sake of continuity I figures I may as well check out what (if anything) I did accomplish in March.
Blog Goals
- Research about how to grow IG (For Lent I am also giving up going on FB and IG while the kids are up during, so I don’t expect much growth in my followers during this time): Nope… growing my IG kinda took a back seat. Also, my social media use has been way higher than I would like it to be. As much as I try to stay off it has been very hard these last few weeks.
- Get back to reading other blogs regularly: another one that didn’t happen. I was able to catch a few blogs here and there but overall I haven’t been sitting down at my computer reading much. It also doesn’t help that Annabelle had been using my computer to check out what her teachers have been posting.
- Plan ahead : I had some ideas in my head, but those all went out the window.
Get at least one microblog post done: I acutally did get this one done! You can check out this post on Facebook or this one
Personal Goals
Host a coffee chat with Autumn’s preschool: I was able to do this, right before everything went down. It was nice to hang out with adults.- Celebrate Annabelle’s birthday: Obviously this didn’t happen. 🙁 We rescheduled it for later in April, but honestly it looks like it’s going to be postponed until summer. We are selling pool party, and she seems excited about it, so hopefully we can make that happen.
- Utilize my passion planning better: yeah, nope
Finish the unicorn blanket: I did this!! I am so happy with how it turned out. I’m hoping to get it on the blog this week or next.Do some more cookie decorating: I made a bunch of cookies for Annabelle’s party… which are now in the freezer. I may bake some other ones and practice some more since it seems we may not leave our house for a while.- Start on Spring Cleaning : well since it snowed here last Monday, Spring cleaning wasn’t top on my list. Now that it is getting warmer I am starting to think more about how I am going to tackle Spring Cleaning.
Health Goals
- Continue drinking enough water: I haven’t been as good as I should be
- Keep track what I am eating : yep, nope.
Continue with my morning work outs: I have continued to get up before the kids to get my workout in.Get active with the kids: We’ve been going on lots of walks/bike rides around the neighborhood.
SURVIVE
I’m not going to lie, April is going to be all about survival. So that is my goal. Survive.
It is very possible that Annabelle and Autumn won’t be going back to school this year. Annabelle usually goes to school until mid June, so it’s not a short amount of time that she will be missing. Autumn’s school was supposed to be done mid May, so we will see what happens. The Governor is giving a press conference at 10:30 today where I hope she will provide some clarity on what will happen next.
I am also dealing with the fact that we haven’t been able to see my parents or my in-laws. While we have skyped with them, it is not the same as in person.
I know that I’m not alone in this, and I want you all to know I’m here for you. Feel free to reach out via email (danielle@asprinkleofjoy.com, or DM me on FB or IG.
We will get through this.
