So not going to lie, this week (and part of last week) as been rough. As an extrovert, being thrust into a change in our way of living where I can’t really interact with others is rough. The uncertainty is rough. By the end of the day I am pretty spent, which has been rough on the blog. Just when I started getting my groove back too.
So I thought I’d share some of the school things we’ve been doing. Our district as been utilizing Google classroom to stay connected. If you follow me on IG then I’ve been trying to share them in my stories too.
One: Math Learning
We’ve been playing lots of games like addition top-it (similar to war, but using two cards and adding them together), Sorry, Hungry Hungry Hippos (which we try to figure out how many marbles are left) and doing lots of baking. Annabelle has also been doing a few things on the computer with iReady, a program she has been using at school.
Two: Writing
We’ve been working on some of the writing assignments her teacher has given. Annabelle is also writing a book. We are talking about beginning, middle, end; character development; and problem and solution.
Three: Reading and Letter Work
We have been reading a lot too, which I love. During the week it had been very hard to get enough reading time in, and it’s something I love.
Four: Science
Most of our science has been working on an insect report for Annabelle. She is doing one on butterflies. I ordered some books from Amazon (you know since the library was closed), and watched a few videos.
Five: Outside
We have been trying to get outside as much as we can. It’s still a bit cold in Michigan, and now we’ve got rain in the forecast for the next few days.
I hope the you are all staying healthy and staying sane!
