I hope everyone had a great weekend! While we did many things, I wouldn’t say it was all fun. Wednesday night Annabelle came down with a cold, and by Thursday morning she was miserable. She had Thursday and Friday off, and pretty much was under the weather Saturday as well. She finally seemed like herself on Sunday.
Despite feeling ok, we still skipped church since she had a slight fever Saturday night. I was totally bummed because she was going to be a little Christmas pageant and it was breakfast with Santa. Aubrie hasn’t seen Santa yet, and at this point in time I don’t really think she will. I mean I know she doesn’t know the difference, but I was still hoping to get a picture of all the girls with Santa.
So this little update is a Thursday-Sunday one.
Watched Elf
We had our annual viewing of Elf! The girls liked it much better this year than last. Since Annabelle was sick (the girls get much more TV time when sick, since I know when I’m sick I don’t really want to do anything) we also watched The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, The Santa Clause, and Home Alone 2.
Do you have any Christmas movies you love watching with your kids??
Decorated Gingerbread Houses
The girls also started decorating their gingerbread houses. I’ve started having them decorate the pieces first. Letting them dry, then assembling it. Much, much, much easier.
I gave them both a squeeze bottle with royal icing it, put out all of the candy and let them at it. I also decorated my own, which I plan on showing in a separate post. The main part of the houses are now together, and I hope to add the roof tomorrow.
Decorated Gingerbread Cookies
We also decorated gingerbread cookies. We still had lots of royal icing left, so we did it a similar way. I gave them squeeze bottles, and they did what they wanted.
Annual Brunch
A little blurry, but we had our annual brunch at my friend’s parent’s house. Unfortunately Annabelle could come since she was sick, but it was still so nice to see my friends.
Make all the Mug Cozys
So for Annabelle’s special teachers (art, music, PE, media center) and the girls’ dance teachers I am crocheting some mug cozys to give them for gifts. I think I only have about three more to go, which is good since next week is the last week before break.
If you are interested in any patterns I have a crochet one and a knitting one.
Also, if you are interested in the paper mug cozys you can get your copy here. They do say cup cozy instead of mug cozy, but they work just the same.
So we for sure kept busy even if we didn’t really leave the house. 😉
