Today is the fourth Friday of the month of January, how is that even possible?? Before we know it, the Easter Bunny will be here, then bam it will be summer. With Annabelle going to Kindergarten in the Fall, I feel I am much more aware of how quickly time is passing. Not that I’m necessarily sad about the fact that Annabelle will be going to Kindergarten, it just snuck up on me!
At any rate, being that it’s the fourth Friday of the month, I’ll be sharing five things that have brought me joy. Not going to lie, January is a tough month for me, joy wise. Christmas is over, and Valentine’s day isn’t until February. It’s usually pretty gloomy out, and we are often stuck inside due to the cold.
ONE: When my girls play nice
If you are a regular reader of my blog, then you know that my girls love to “test” each other. This often in ends in screams and tears (and mom wanting pull her hair out).
TWO: Snow!
Now I know I said I don’t like cold, but snow is a different subject. I actually like the snow. It’s peacfully to watch it fall, and I love how a snow covered yard looks. I don’t have to worry about driving in it, so I can enjoy it from my own house. This is also the first year both girls actually like playing in the snow, so that makes it awesome too!
THREE: The start of Potty Training
We have started potty training Autumn. The thought of no more diaper makes me very excited.
FOUR: Being Creative
One of my personal goals this year is to learn how to do calligraphy/ hand lettering. I’ve come to the realization that you kind of have to find your own style. So I’ve been going through the alphabet trying out different styles until I find one that flows with how I write. Right now I’m having lots of problems with a… I don’t like how any of mine look! You’ve gotta let me kinda natural, if that makes sense??
FIVE: Cable Knitting
Ok, so I have been working on this scarf that Annabelle requested for quite some time. I think I took it apart and started over about 5 or 6 times. I got super frustrated and had to walk away for a bit. I finally picked it back up, and figured out how to do cables. So hopefully she will have a scarf before summer…
