I am so excited to finally share this recipe with you! It’s been on my “posts to make” list for the past two months, but it kept getting pushed back. Then I made a recipe, but it didn’t turn out good so I had to tweak it a few times. After a few changes here and there, I ended up with this delicious thirty minute mulled wine recipe. It’s cinnamon-y, clove-y and just a little sweet. I will for sure be making this again.
This thirty minute mulled wine recipe is so easy! You simply need to put everything in a pot and allow to simmer for about 30 minutes. I used apple juice in the recipe, but I think that apple cider would really tasty great. I use it in my apple cider sangria, and that is always a hit when I make it.
Thirty Minute Mulled Wine Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 bottle red wine
- 1/2 cup apple juice or apple cider
- 2-3 cinnamon sticks
- 3/4 teaspoon whole cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon whole allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon piece of nutmeg
- 3-4 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1-2 tablespoons agave syrup
- 2-3 tablespoons cranberries
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in a pot and simmer on the stove for at least 30 minutes. Do not let it boil.
This recipe is best served warm. I turned off the stove, and after it cooled off it didn’t taste nearly as good. You could probably heat it up, then place it in your crock pot (set at keep warm) to keep it heated without needing to keep it simmering on the stove. In fact, I do have a recipe for mulled apple cider sangria in the crock pot. It’s made with moscato, so it has a slightly different taste than mulled wine made with red wine.
If non alcoholic drinks are more your thing, check out my mulled cider recipe. Just like this mulled wine recipe, it simmers on the stove for about 30 minutes to create an amazing drink to warm you up on a cold day.
How do you like to warm up on a cold day? Are you mulled wine fan? Or do you prefer something different.
