As Valentine’s Day approaches I wanted to share with you an easy headband pattern. Â I love crocheting my girls headbands. Â They are easy, I can customize them, and they take no time at all. Â It’s great!!

O.K. Y’all.  I did something I never thought I would do. Sharing a video.  I really, really, really, hate how I sound on video, so that’s how much you all mean to me. 😉  Also, it’s my first time ever recording myself/trying to edit, so  I hope it turns out ok!  I’m actually hoping to do more crochet videos, so I hope this works!
Or, if you prefer, I tried to do this in pictures as well:
R1: 5 tr (note the chain three DOES NOT count as your first tr)
In case you want to know how to triple crochet I tried to break it down. Â There are a lot of steps, but it’s really not hard.
So, you should now have 5 tc in your magic circle.
3 dc,
This is what it should look like after you have finished the 5 tr and 3 dc. Those stitches give you one side of the heart.
1 tr, which gives you the “point” of the heart. So, now you heart  should look like this:
Now, its time to make the other side of the heart.
3 dc, 5 tr, ch 3.
Pull the heart tight
Slip stitch into the middle.
R2: ch 3, slip stitch into chain
sc, 2 hdc into the same stitch,
2 dc into same stitch, tr, 2 dc into same stitch, dc, hdc, hdc, tr, hdc, hdc, dc, 2 dc into same stitch, tr, 2 dc into same stitch, 2 hdc into same stitch, sc, ch 3, slip stitch into the center
Your heart should now look like this.
R3: ch 3, slip stitch into the the first sc from the previous round,
then sc in the same stitch, dc, 2 dc into same stitch, 3 dc into same stitch, 2 dc into same stitch, dc, dc, dc, dc, hdc, hdc, hdc, hdc, tr, hdc, hdc, hdc, hdc, hdc, dc, dc, dc, dc, 2 dc into same stitch, 3 dc into same stitch, dc, sc, ch 3, slip stitch.
When cutting off, leave a slightly long string. Use this to create loops on the back of your heart. I suggest three places, in the middle and on the ends (you can see what I mean in the picture under putting it together).
For the Headband
You want to make a chain that you can double up and wrap around the wearer’s head. Â Make it just a few stitch smaller, since it will stretch a little.
Putting it together
Slip two ends of the headband chain through the loops on the back of the heart.
Then connect the ends of that chain to the looped end
Then slip the heart so it covers the ends you just connected.
Put it on your wear and admire your work!

For the Headband
Make a chain a little bit smaller than twice as big as the wearers head.
For example, for Annabelle a chain of 40 fits around Annabelle’s head. Two times that is a chain of 80. Â Take away a few chains (since it will stretch a little bit) makes it a chain of 75. Â So I’d make a chain of 75 for the headband.
Putting it together
Slip the end of the last chain you made through the loops on the back of the heart. Then connect the end of that chain to the other end (you will end up with four ends together).
I usually keep the yarn tail from the headband long, and wrap it around the loops on the heart to help keep the heart in place.
