I hope that everyone had a fabulous weekend!
When Monday comes around I am always torn. I’m sad because the weekend is done, but feel I also feel motivated to do all the things.
I haven’t done a weekend recap post in ages, so I’m excited to share what we were up too. 🙂
On Friday Annabelle, Autumn and I ran some errands. We went to JoAnn Fabric’s to pick up some St. Patty’s day fabric, and some materials for a fun St. Pat’s day DIY project. I hadn’t been there in some time, but all the workers still remembered Annabelle (since she always asks them if they have any dogs or cats).
After that, we did something that I was super excited about….
I opened a PO Box!
Not going to lie, I am pretty excited about this. 🙂
Then, Friday afternoon I headed over to Honey Studios for a night out with some of my fellow DMB mamas. I had a blow out (which besides when I get my hair cut, I’ve never had before). This was all in preparation for our head shots the next day.
On Saturday morning I said goodbye to the girls (and a slightly groggy husband) and head out to get my headshot done for the Detroit Mom’s Blog (for those of you who don’t know I am a contributor).
We started at Madison Boutique where I got to play dress up. They had so many cute clothes, it was hard to choose. If you like fun clothes, check them out. They are online as well!
Then it was time to get my make-up done by Megan from On The Road Beauty . She did such a fantastic job (as did all the ladies who were there). Do you know what I loved the most? That everyone’s make-up fit them. Some people had more, some people had less. These ladies really listened to what you wanted!
Seriously, if I could just have Megan do my makeup everyday… that would be great! 😉
After getting my face made, it was off to the studio to get my hair “touched up” and my photo taken.
So, y’all know how I said I got my hair blown out on Friday. That was so it would look ok for the pictures on Saturday. I knew there would be someone there to touch up my hair, but it couldn’t be a hot mess. Well, like what usually happens after I get my hair cut, it was pretty much flat by the next day. So I was basically just hoping for a little more volume to be added, but friends, I got way more! Simona did a FANTASTIC job on my hair!! I got a killer lose side updo.
Seriously folks, it was great! I haven’t felt so pretty since my wedding!
And guess what else awesome happened!
I met JeeYoung from Simply Every!
I’ve been following her blog for a while, and we are both part of some Facebook groups, so it was soooo much fun to meet a blogging mama in real life!! Lauren from Also Known as Mama, Meredith from Confessions of a Modern Mama and Nikki from Nikki Said What are all contributors too. I’ve been lucky enough to hang out a these ladies few times. I love it! 🙂
The pictures were taken by Emma Burcusel, and can I say they turned out fabulous! Matt saw them and was like “Wow! I married a stone cold hottie.”
See?!?!?! I felt so glam!!!

So, that was quite the busy Saturday.
On Sunday Matt spent the day replacing the front breaks in my car, while the girls and I hung out. Then, Matt, Annabelle, and I headed to the Fox to see Sesame Street Live.
Some of our awesome neighbors had some tickets and invited us to go along with them (and their daughter, who I am calling P). It was a Box Suite, so it was super nice. All day all Annabelle could ask was “When are we going to see P?? I want to see P. Is it time to go yet?”
When we finally got there? She was kinda unimpressed with the show. She enjoyed the first 30 minutes or so, but after that she didn’t seem to care.
Truth be told, she has never seen Sesame Street before (nor had her friend), so I’m sure that was part of the reason (had it been Bubble Guppies or Shimmer and Shine, that would have been a whole other story). She did have fun seeing P though. And the highlight for me? When P turned to Annabelle and said “Annabelle, you’re my best friend”. My heart was so full at that time! P is such a sweet girl, we lucked out when she moved to the neighborhood!
When we got home we put the girls to bed, then watched the Super Bowl, which was recorded. I actually fell asleep at the end since I was so tired, and woke up sad to hear that the Patriots won.
Overall, quite the busy weekend!
What about you? What was the highlight of your weekend friends?
