If you read my blog regularly then you know we are a football family. We cheer for Michigan State (our Alma Mater), the Lions, and the players on our fantasy teams.
This weekend was a huge game for the Spartans. We played the University of Michigan, at their stadium. For those of you who don’t know, this is a huge rivalry.
When I went to school at State, Michigan pretty much dominated, unfortunately. However when we hired our new coach Dantonio ( and when Michigan went through two not so good coaches) we started winning.
Well, Michigan hired a new coach (Harbaugh, yes the one who used to coach in the NFL) and they are good again. I was worried about the game.
We made sure to wear our Spartan outfits to give them some good luck.
It was a close game the whole time, with Michigan leading. We made sure to cheer the Spatans on. In fact Annabelle yelled “Go Green! Go White! Go Football” whenever State did something good (read when her parents were excited ).
How cute is she!?
With the score at 21-23 Michigan, there were ten seconds left in the game. All Michigan needed to do was punt the ball, and they would have won. I was pretty much sure we had lost the game. Then something amazing happened. The punter fumbled the ball, State recovered it and ran it in for a touchdown! Final score, 27-23!
You should have seen me! I jumped off the couch and was jumping and screaming like a fool. Annabelle didn’t know what to think, and Autumn slept through it all.
And you know what makes it extra special? This was Dantonio’s 100th win! What a game to get that record with.
Unfortunately the player who made the game winning touchdown broke his hip on the play and is out for the rest of the season.
Sorry for any typos. I wrote this post on my Ipad since it’s quite difficult to find the time to sit down at my computer.
