I usually try to participate in the Five on Friday link up, but have been majorly slacking on that as of late. Today I’m doing something a bit different. Beth over at Our Pretty Girls tagged me to do a love/hate post. I tell you ten things I love and ten things I hate, then tagged other blogger to do the same.
1. My family
2. My parents and in-laws
Love my parents. I feel so lucky to live so close to them. Since they are only a short walk way we get to see them at least once a week. It’s super!
I also have a great relationship with my in-laws. In the picture you will see Banner and Cuk (Matt’s grandparents), Dona (my MIL…. aka Mimi), Matt, Vince and Sarah (SIL and her hubby), then of course me. They all live close by, so we get to see them all the time as well.
All the pictures in number one and two were taken by Amanda Williams. If you live in the Metro Detroit area I highly suggest her!
3. Chocolate
I. Love. All. Chocolate. It’s not just because I am pregnant, it’s because chocolate is delicious.
4. A good workout
I love that feeling you get after a good work out. You know, that sweaty, sore feeling. My husband thinks I’m cray-cray, but I love it. Being pregnant makes it a bit harder to get a good workout in.
5. Naps
While I love a good nap, the naps I am talking about are Annabelle’s naps. This is the time I try to take for myself (although I usually end up cleaning/tidying up for part of it). There is nothing worse than sitting down to finally relax, only to hear your child crying because they are ready to get up.
6. Sewing/ Crafting
If you’ve been a reader of my blog for a while, you know I love crafting. Being able to sit down and create is so much fun.
7. Baking
I have always loved baking. There is a quote I read once on a Starbucks cup that really resonated with me:
“Baking may be regarded as a science, but it’s the chemistry
between the ingredients and the cook that gives desserts life. Baking
is done out of love, to share with family and friends, to see them
smile.” ~Anna Olson
8. Christmas
I love the Christmas season! The birth of Jesus, the time with family and everything in between.
Last year I even teamed up with Beth from Our Pretty Little Girls and Kelly from Happily Every Mock to host a Christmas link up.
9. Fall
There are so many things to love about Fall (besides the beautiful colors and great weather).
First of all apple picking!
2013- I can’t believe how small she was!
2014- We went twice last year. Once with my parents and once with the my moms’ club. I sure do hope I can go again this year.
Then of course football!
We root for both MSU and the Lions.
Finally, there is Halloween. Dressing up, carving pumpkins! So much fun.
Matt and I pre- Annabelle (the picture is five years old). He was Iron Man, while I was Pepper. Man, we look young there…. |
10. Harry Potter
I love Harry Potter. I have read the series at least 10 times, and have seen the movies countless times. Every time I finish the series I getting a little sad.
Sorry, not many pictures for the hate section
1. Spiders
Seriously, they are creepy. I have never been a fan. I don’t think I could ever go to Australia since they have spiders as big as dinner plates. No. Thank. You.
2. People who drive slow in the fast lane
Really… if you are going to drive slow, get over.
3. Ironing
Ironing is probably my least favorite chore. I can’t stand it. I try to get all the clothes out of the dryer ASAP to avoid it at all costs.
4. The series finale of Chuck
Via |
Was anyone else a Chuck fan? Matt and I loved watching that show, but the series finally just was awful. No. Closure. Those are the worse!
5. Neurofibromatosis
I’ve talked a little about this genetic disorder, but it pretty much sucks. You can read more about it here.
6. Not letting kids be kids
O.K. this is kinda a soap box for me, but bear with me. Kids are only kids for a short amount of time, so let them be kids. Let them play, explore, use their imaginations. Children can learn so, so, so much through play! That’s not to say early education isn’t important (it is), but having young children sit and do worksheets isn’t the way.
7. Tantrums
But really, who does like them? Besides maybe the little darlings throwing them.
8. My hearing loss
I was diagnosed with my hearing loss when I failed the test the schools administer in kindergarten. The loss is described as a cookie cutter. That means I can hear high tones and low tones, but the mid range ones are hard. You know what falls in the mid range level? Voices. The amount of times I have to ask people to repeat things is crazy. They get annoyed, and I get annoyed. I really should get hearing aids, but they are expensive, and well, I’m not that old.
9. When Annabelle gets woken up from her nap
Kinda goes back to what I love. When Annabelle takes good naps. Nothing worse than a short nap.
10. Creamed corn
Matt likes it, but I don’t. I just can’t do it.
