So, I am finally getting around to showing you just what I did with that fun DIY chevron tray I shared last week two weeks ago.
I used it to make a mini DIY coffee station/bar
A while back my husband and I invested in a Ninja Coffee Bar . We had purchased one regular old coffee maker and had to replace it once. Well that replacement broke, and we decided instead of buying the same thing we might as well upgrade. After lots of research (by my husband) we decided to go with the Ninja, and are so happy we did.
Not only does it brew a carafe, but you can also do individual cups, travel mug size or 1/2 carafes. While I know you can do this with a simple coffee maker, the Ninja makes it easy. 😉 You can also brew “specialty” coffee like cappuccinos and espresso pretty easily. It came with a niffty little milk frother too, but…. I broke it. It fell off the drying rack and shattered all over the place.
So, back to the coffee. After using pre-ground coffee, we decided to try out whole beans (making a coffee bean grinder needed. We got the Capresso Burr Grinder). Folks, the difference was noticeable (and I am not a “coffee snob”) so we bought some different whole bean coffee to try.
I wanted a way to store the beans, so I busted out some of the many mason jars we have. I started with writing the type of beans on a piece of masking tape, and putting that on the jar, but where is the fun in that? I wanted something fun, but easy, so I painted the top of the lids with chalkboard paint. Matt just rolled his eyes, but when he saw the finished product he admitted it was pretty clever.
So as you can see, we had so many coffee related items at this point in time. And they were all just sitting on the counter, looking a mess. Trying to clean the counter meant taking all of the items off, and it just got annoying. So I finally did something with the tray I had bought such a long time ago.
I love that it stores the coffee beans, some flavored syrups and a cute little chalkboard I picked up from the Target dollar spot once. And to clean, I simple move the tray. Easy-peasy lemon squeeze-y. So that’s how I used the tray. It’s just big enough our coffee “station”, and I love the pop of color it brings. 🙂
So what about you? Do you have a coffee station or bar at your place?
