Happy Friday everyone! Even if it is a Friday the 13th. Something I loved back on the day was Five on Friday. I was wondering if it was still a thing, but then realized I don’t really care. I liked them, so why not do them. So, here are my favorites from the week.
One: Sunshine
Living in Michigan can get pretty dreary in the months of October-March/April. Lots of clouds, cold, sleet. We had a long stretch of drab weather. Then on Monday and Wednesday the sun came out! Aubrie and I went on some walks, and when the girls came home from school we played outside till dark. It has been nice that it’s been warmer, but I do hope we get some decent snow soon. Part of why I love Michigan is we get all four seasons. Also, we are once again doing the 1000 hours outside challenge. Last year we got just over 500, so hoping for more this year. If you want t 100 hour tracker you can check out this post.
Two: Girl Scouts
It was a Girl Scout week! Both Annabelle and Autumn are in Girl Scouts, plus I’m a Daisy leader (so Aubrie attends quite a few things too). We have a multi level troop of Daisies to Juniors, so Annabelle and Autumn get to experience a lot together. It is so much fun watching all the little scouts interact with the older ones. We start as a big group, break apart into levels, them come back together for the closing song, which always makes me tear up a little.
Three: Snuggles
Aubrie has been extra snuggly lately, and I’ve been going with it. In fact twice this week she’s fallen asleep on me (the majority of this post was written while she napped on me). While there is usually stuff to get done around the house, I’m trying to just take the break and snuggle. I know one day the snuggles will stop, so soaking it up while I can. Even one of our cats came to join us one day.
Four: Leftovers
Now this may seem like a weird one, but hear me out. This year I’m trying to make a much better effort about not wasting food. We have always eaten leftovers, but more and more I found myself finding random leftovers in the fridge, and having to dump them because they were too old. I want that to stop, it’s like throwing money away! So we will be eating more leftovers, even if it means eating the remains of a dinner that wasn’t the best. Now I I’m going to be tracking my grocery spending to see if we can spend less (because my goodness groceries are so expensive).’Now this may seem like a weird one, but hear me out. Five: My Tattoo
I forgot to mention this in my back to blogging post, but I got a tattoo last May! I’d been wanting one for a few years and finally did it. The three hearts are for my girls, and the infinity sign is kinda a combo of my love for my husband and family, and that life keeps moving. Some days (or years) are harder than other, but it keeps going. It’s a reminder not to give up.
I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend!
