I’ve shared a few pictures here and there, but figured it was time to do a little home tour of our Halloween decorations. I like to say our Halloween decorations are spunky. I have relied heavily on hand-me down decorations since Matt and I have been married. Many of the decorations last year had seen far better days, so I tossed some of them. Then at the end of the year I made sure to hit up the sales at JoAnn Fabrics, and Kroger. I was able to snag a bunch of lights which made me very happy.
Front Hall
So in our front hall I still have this weird desk thing that was left by the previous owners. It was in a different room but I thought it would be good for the front. It works well, but since it’s kinda ugly I try to cover it with a table cloth. Eventually I’d like to get a nice front table that I can style a little better than this, but I work with what I have. I used the wall stickers last year (maybe even the year before that), but they aren’t quite as sticky and keep falling down.
I made the tiered shelf with materials I found at the dollar store. I had really wanted to make some cute Hocus Pocus themed decor to put on it, but I ran out of time, had to many other projects I needed to finish. The little pumpkins are a hand me down from my MIL, and supposed to go over twinkle lights, but the lights don’t work, and a few of the pumpkins broke, so I just use them randomly in my decorating.
Mantel
On the mantle I put a little spider web table runner that I found at JoAnn’s after Halloween one year. Then, more lights I snagged for like a buck at Kroger after Halloween last year. Plus I added a little fake spider web to our mantle.
More lights!
So more lights went around our window. Please excuse the school charts around the window. We still don’t have the downstairs room done, so they go up here. Eventually I’d like to add some sort of black garland too (shhhh….. don’t tell Matt).
I also decided to hang this up next to the window too. I used to put it on the front door, but every time the wind blows it makes it bang on the door. Which got quite annoying.
Also what windows would be complete without some window clings??? Most of the ones in the last pictures are from when I was a kid! I remember putting them up so it’s fun to watch the girls do it too. The others are from the dollar store and have held up pretty good!
Bathroom
More lights!!!! I told you I bought a ton. Also a few little pumpkins in the corner.
Front Porch
I’m loving my front porch! I have mums on the porch, and a fake spider web on the bushes.
I also made a little tombstone to put out. Which pales in comparison to my neighbors’ Halloween tombstone display.. I’ll have to snap a picture. It is very impressive.
Some more spider web (with a big ass spider), and a bale of hay.
Books!
I almost forgot to share all the books we put out at Halloween time! As a former teacher I have a tooooooon of books, Room on the Broom is a favorite. 🙂
I’m also in the process of making a new wreath, so hopefully I will be able to share it next week!
