I don’t know about you, but that weekend flew by! The girls and I were quite busy, but had a blast!
FRIDAY:
On Friday the girls and I enjoyed the last day of break hanging out at home. It’s been very relaxing not having to rush out of the house every morning.
I worked on the chalkboard for Annabelle’s birthday party which is coming up this weekend. As always I did a rough sketch on a piece of paper before doing it on the chalk board. Not trying to brag, but I am very impressed with who it turned out.
And I really don’t know where in the movie Ariel says, but when I googled “Little Mermaid Quotes” this one popped up.
Other than that it was pretty low key.
SATURDAY
On Saturday we headed to a local rollerskating rink with my childhood friend (who used to be a Detroit Derby girl). It was a blast from the past for sure, since it was the same place we used to go to when I was a kid.
The girls both had a blast, and did surprisingly well. After skating, we hit up Panera for some lunch before coming home to relax. That night Matt and I ordered a pizza and watched a movie, as is our normal Saturday night. This Saturday the movie of choice was The Hitman’s Bodyguard. We both enjoyed it, I perhaps a little more since Ryan Reynolds was in it.
SUNDAY
Sunday morning the girls and I headed to church in the AM. After two weeks off, it was nice to be back. After Mass we socialized as they always have some goodies to encourage people to stay and mingle. We always sit with the same families in the children’s room, and I love watching the kids all interact with one another.
The rest of Sunday was spent with me trying to get started on all of the party prep for Annabelle’s birthday. So far I have baked all the cookies (and sketched up what I hope they will look like), next up is starting the decorating process. Wish me luck… I usually have these grand ideas, but then the results aren’t quite what I hope.
We also ended up getting Annabelle’s ears pierced! I have been asking her if she wanted to, and for a while she said no. No big deal, so I told her to let me know when she wanted to. Well last month she told me that she wanted to get her ears pierced for her birthday. So I called a local tattoo parlor (who also does piercings), and they ended up having time today. Annabelle was so brave, and now has some pretty turquoise studs!
What about you? Did you have a fabulous weekend?
