Phew this week was a long one. I am so excited that we made it to Friday.
One: What we ate this week
Ok, so this week we had a lot of left overs. We had lots of random things that I wanted to use up. I am trying very hard not to be wasteful with our dinners. Too often I end up throwing out old food, and I hate it.
Sunday: burgers and hot dogs
Monday: choose your own leftovers
Tuesday: more left overs
Wednesday: chicken shawarma
Thursday: left overs for the adults, chicken nuggets for the kids
Friday: pizza or order in
Saturday: smoked pork butt
Two: What I’ve been reading
I’ve actually read three books so far this summer! I love to read, but it is so hard to find the time to read.
Sorry the picture is sideways, but sometimes WordPress rotates how they think it should be.
My favorite of these books was The Me I Used to Be, I had a really hard time putting it down!
Three: What I’ve been crafting
I’ve made a unicorn and a fun MSU shirt with my Silhouette.
I hope to get the MSU shirt on the blog next week. I also took an oversized shirt and made it fun by cutting and tying it. Hopefully there will be football in the fall so I can wear it….
I am also almost done with a dress for myself! It doesn’t quite fit, but I made it using free fabric so I know how to better adjust the pattern.
Four: How the girls reading has been going
The girls are onto their second reading log. They’ve already accrued about 7 hours. Our latest reward was homemade snow cones! I made homemade syrup as well, and I have been contemplating putting them on the blog.
Five: What I’m looking forward to
Working on the basement playroom. With not knowing how school is going to look this fall I wanted a better place than the kitchen for Annabelle to do her school work. I am also ready to move all of the art stuff into the basement and get it better organized.
Here is a before:
So far we have gotten rid of the mattress and taken down lots of the furniture. We have a looooong way to to go, but it feels good to have started. I’m trying to remember to take lots of progress pictures to do a post on it.
Here’s what it looks like now. We still have tons of boxes, but they are pushed to the side.
Speaking of the play room reno, I’d love to hear your thoughts on a click and lock laminate floor in the basement. Since we’ll move the art area done there, I want something that is easy clean up. If we did that I’d probably get some sort of area rug as well.
And in case you missed it, on the blog this week:
I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!
