I hope that everyone had a fabulous weekend! It feels like it has been forever since I’ve done a little bit of an update on what’s been going on around here! I’ve been so focused on getting craft/recipe posts up, and we’ve been leading a relatively uneventful life, that I’ve just skipped over the daily life posts. Today I decided to take a break from the DIY and share our weekend.
FRIDAY
Friday was a pretty busy day. We started by dropping Annabelle off at school with a little Halloween goodie bag for her teacher. Please pardon the terrible light, it was night when I finally got around to taking the picture.
After dropping Annabelle off at school it was off to my parent’s to drop Aubrie off. Then to Autumn’s school where I was the working parent (since Autumn goes to a co-op the parents all help out in the classroom 2ish times a month). We then went back to my parents house where we hung out for a bit, and I chatted with them about the Traverse City Wine tour they had done the weekend before. Per my request they brought back some hard cider.
We then had to drive back home to pick up Annabelle early from school so we could drive back to the same area my parents lived so she could go to her eye appointment. Because Aubrie had taken a craptastic nap at my parents she had a melt down.
On the way home I decided to stop at Meijer (we desperately needed some items), then by the time I got home I was beat so I told my girls we could watch The Nightmare Before Christmas.
I honestly don’t get that movie. I thought for sure the girls would want me to turn it off, but they watched the whole thing (complete with suckers from the doctor). By the time it was over Annabelle was acting tired, and when I felt her I just knew she had a fever. The thermometer confirmed.
SATURDAY
Saturday for the girls was spent watching all the TV. Whenever one of the girls is sick with a fever I always let them just vegge. I know when I don’t feel good I don’t want to do anything. While they were watching TV I was able to finish the Halloween costumes!
I am so happy with how they turned out! Finding a *cheap* white sweatshirt and sweatpants for Autumn’s costume proved to be difficult. I ended up finding some XL adult sweatpants at Salvation Army that I was able to cut up and sew back together to fit Autunm. The hoodie was a zippy one. I ended up taking off the zipper, sewing it together, and reattaching the hood so I could have a front with no pockets (if that makes any sense).
I also finished a simple little Halloween decoration, because you can never have too many right??
SUNDAY
Thankfully Annabelle woke up Sunday with no fever. We had picture scheduled for the afternoon, and after asking our photographer if she was ok with still doing them (since I had let her know on Saturday that Annabelle was sick). Thankfully she was, and we were able to get some beautiful fall pictures taken!
The girls had a blast playing at the park when it was done. The only pictures I took was of them on this cool little twirly thing.
**Also you can see in the background all of the photographers taking pictures. It was a happening spot.**
I can’t wait to get the pictures back!!
As I am writing this Sunday night, I am off to do a little more sewing before calling it for an early bed time, since I now have a cold (booo).
I hope your weekend was fantastic!
