This weekend was a super busy one! Like I’ve barely had a chance to breathe busy.
FRIDAY
On Friday I got to hang out with some of the awesome contributors of Detroit Mom (I’ve been contributing for about 4 years now). In true Danielle fashion I totally forgot to take pictures. I was just having too much fun hanging with actual adults.
Seriously though, I am blown away at how many amazing women are part of this group. Like women doing major things to make a positive impact on those around them. Women lifting each other up. Women starting their own kick ass business. Women writing with their heart on their elevens in hopes of helping others. I am so lucky to be part of such an amazing group of ladies.
At any rate, I brought a tasty cookie tray, and we did a favorite things gift exchange. We each brought five of the same items, and left with a mix of five other things. I’m not going to lie I was pretty stoked I came home with these bad boys. They are soooo very comfy, and my slippers needed some major replacing.
I got home around 11ish, and Matt was playing X-Box, so I just headed to bed.
SATURDAY
I feel like Aubrie was up early on Saturday, so I let the girls come downstairs before their normal “it’s the weekend so you can’t wake me up until 7:00 time”.
Since my girls get up way too early to do a legit North Pole breakfast, I decided to do a North Pole Breakfast for Lunch. I made cinammon rolls, and a gingerbread french toast bake. Plus we had hot chocolate, fruit, yogurt and bacon.
Then we headed to my sister in law and her hubby’s house for a Christmas party. I of course brought a cookie tray.
And I was actually able to get a picture of the girls and I! I mean it’s not the best one, but it is a picture none the less.
We probably got home around eight, and after putting the girls to bed we watched Fighting with my Family, which was good, and nothing like what we thought it would be like. Not going to lie, I got a bit teary eyed at the end.
After, my husband wanted me to re-watch Rudy, since I didn’t cry the first time we watched it. So we watched it in bed, and he was happy to see me shed a few tears. 😉
SUNDAY
On Sunday I was up bright and early at 6:00am so I could hop in the shower before the girls got up (rather before they woke me up. When I got up I heard them playing in Annabelle’s room). Annabelle had Catechism before Mass, so we dropped her off at church at 8:30. We then headed to my parents’ house until it was back for Mass.
After church we had to rush home so the girls could eat and we could make it to Deserts and Dancing with Santa, put on by our dance studio. Both Annabelle and Autumn were in shows this year.
The girls were excited to eat some sweets and chat up Santa. Since it was going to be a long day (the girls were not in the same show, so we were there from 1:00-4:00), Matt watched Aubrie at home.
Breakfast with Santa is next week at church so I will be getting a picture of all the girls with Santa then.
After getting home I cleaned up the house a little, then just chilled (well I wrote up this post first), and did a bit of crocheting and sewing.
Honestly this felt like one of those weekends I need a weekend to recover. I hoping that next week isn’t too busy, but I know from now until Christmas it’ll be go, go, go.
What about you?? How was your weekend??
