Linking up with Liz at Liz Marie Blog for the Inspire Me Please Blog Hop. Scroll down to the bottom of my post for a yummy banana sweet potato bread.
Life has been a bit crazy lately. Between opening my Etsy store, trying to spring clean and Annabelle’s erratic sleeping schedule I haven’t had much time. This post is kinda a hodge podge of everything going on.
Before the bulk of the blog, I wanted to share some pictures of Annabelle. We got to eat some snack outside since the rain stopped!
The rain even held off and we were able to plant our square foot garden! I can’t wait for fresh veggies.
My Etsy store has been going well. As of now I have only sold items to friends, family or friends of family, but I have been added to a treasury, so that’s pretty exciting (I had to look up what a treasury was. If you don’t know sellers can create lists of 16 stores for other buyers to see). Hopefully that will drum up some traffic. Also today someone mentioned me on twitter and included my Etsy store on their blog! You can check the blog out here, if you scroll down you can see my Etsy shop under leisure. If you want to check out my store you can click on the Etsy button on the side of my blog.
Ah, spring cleaning. Now that the weather has finally started getting more spring like, I have tried to begin my spring cleaning. Let me tell you, it’s a heck of a lot harder with a baby! I have been trying to accomplish little tasks every few days. The first thing I did was wash the pillows on our bed. Apparently you should wash our pillows 1-2 times a year… never knew that. Everywhere I read said how easy it was to clean them, and it was. I washed them two at a time in the washing machine, then did an extra rinse (note, down or feather pillows will smell until they dry). What I didn’t read anywhere was how long it would take them to dry! I stuck them in the dryer on air dry, but that didn’t work at all! What I ended up doing was putting them to dry outside. The sun also helped bleach them. It still took all day, and they still weren’t quite dry so I left them on the drying rack overnight. The next day the pillows were nice and dry. I stuck them two at a time in the dryer along with tennis balls in socks to fluff them up.
I also made Annabelle some banana sweet potato bread. Lately she has not really wanted anything to do with any type of vegetable, so I snuck some into this bread.
If you just want the recipe you can scroll down to the bottom of this post.
Step One:
Mash two bananas with 1/2 a cup of cooked sweet potatoes. Mine sweet potatoes were cubed, but puree would work fine too. I just used my Kitchen Aide mixer to mash everything up.
Step Two:
Add the eggs, applesauce and oil and mix.
Step Three:
Add the sugars and mix.
Step Four:
Blend in the flour and baking soda.
Step Five:
Pour mixture into a greased bread pan.
Step Six:
Bake at 350 for 50-55 minutes then remove from oven and let cool.
Step Seven:
Enjoy!
Hopefully I’ll be able to post some photos of Annabelle from Easter dinner soon, so check back. 🙂
