I’m linking up with Leslie from Once Upon a Time and Happily Every After for her 10 on the 10th link up. This month the topic is 10 things I love about Spring, so here we go. And while Spring is my least favorite season, I still do like parts of it.
One: The sun!
Living in Michigan the winters can get quite gloomy. Days without seeing the sun can wear on a person. It is so nice to see the sun once spring is here. Even if the weather is cold, the sun on my face is fantastic.
Two: Opening the windows
I love being able to open the windows once it gets warm enough. In fact, a few days ago it was in the 60s out, and I promptly opened the windows in the kitchen. After having the windows closed for 5ish months, I love getting fresh air in our house
Three: Easter
Easter comes with Spring, and I love being able to celebrating Jesus.
Four: Outside time
While, this kind of goes along with sun, I love being able to get outside more in the Spring. Letting the kids play on the play structure, going on walks. It’s fabulous.
Five: Grilling
Once the weather starts warming up a little more the grilling and smoking starts again! While I love the comfort foods of fall and winter, I do love a good grilled hamburger and hotdog.
Six: Outdoor eating
While this usually doesn’t start happening until later in the Spring I love being able to eat on the patio. The girls think it is equally as fun. Plus at the end of the day Matt and I enjoy just sitting on the patio enjoying a drink or two.
Seven: Gardening
It’s always fun to get our vegetable garden started. We always start the seeds indoors, then closer to summer transplant them to the garden.
Eight: That first thunderstorm
I’m not a huge fan of thunderstorms, but there is always something cool about the first one. And the smell after a good rain is awesome too. Not the smell of worms though, just that freshly fallen rain smell.
Nine: Changing up the wardrobe
I am for sure not the most fashionable person out there, but I do love changing up my wardrobe in the Spring. Including more floral prints and bright colors. Plus busting out some dresses.
Ten: Spring cleaning
Ok…. while I don’t really love Spring cleaning, I do love the feeling of having my house extra clean, even if that feeling only lasts for a day or so. You can check out this post or this post for a checklist and tips. Or stay tuned I’ll probably do another Spring cleaning post this year too.
What are your feelings on Spring?
