I hope that everyone had a relaxing weekend! It was very nice here in Michigan (finally) so getting back into the swing of things this week has been a bit challenging. All the girls want to do is play in the pool, and I can’t say that I blame them!
Friday
So Friday I spent most of the day on the couch. I had a Zoom meetup with a few friends and had a few too many adult beverages. Thankfully the older girls were content playing and watching a movie, and Aubrie took a pretty decent nap, and also had fun putting stuffed animals on my head as I was laying down.
Saturday
On Saturday the girls couldn’t wait to jump in the pool. It was a bit chilly, but we still got in.
I also bought myself a Cricut Easypress! Lately some of the HTV shirts I have been making are starting to peel, so I am hoping this will help eliminate that problem.
Sunday
Sunday was another day we basically spent outside. I was in the pool with the girls for most of the day, but we also played on the play structure a bit.
Seriously guys, I love watching her run. She tries so hard to keep up with her sisters.
After dinner Matt took the big girls in the pool for a swim. It is one of their favorite things to do.
I tried to put Aubrie to sleep (since she was way tired) but she was having none of it, so I eventually got into the pool with her.
Monday
On Monday we once again spent most of the day outside, and lots of time in the pool.
The girls also enjoyed some time in the “sandbox” (aka the sand left over from the old play structure. I think they are going to be pretty sad when it goes. I’m thinking of convince Matt to get one of those plastic turtle things with a cover so that we can keep it.
Matt finished the drip irrigation on our garden boxes, and he and the girls planted the seeds. Next up is for him to finish the fences to keep the deer and other animals away.
We have three garden beds. One will be for blueberries, one for raspberries, and one is a square foot garden. It will have tomatoes, cucumbers, jalapenos, artichokes, and a few other things that I don’t remember.
When I went to make lunch on Monday I went into our garage fridge to get a new packet of lunch meat, only to discover the fridge was not on. Thankfully the lunch meat was still cold (and the fridge had been working the day before) so I knew it wasn’t totally dead. Matt took a look at it, and couldn’t get it back on so we had to take all the meat from the freezer (which was thankfully still all frozen) and shove it into our already packed fridge in the house. We had a lot of pre-cooked meals and it would have been so sad to loose them, particularly the smoked brisket.
I also had two gallons of ice cream (with plans to do a fun sundae bar post on the blog) which couldn’t both fit in the freezer so we had ice cream as a mid day snack. No complaints from the kids. And you better believe I got in on the action.
As the girls were waiting to eat dinner, they complained about being bored, so I told them to look for four leaf clovers, and guess what?? They both found one!!
And that pretty much concludes our weekend. I hope everyone is staying healthy!
