With the holiday season quickly approaching, I’ve got Christmas, Santa, and gift giving on my mind (and if you read my blog regularly, you know Christmas songs are playing as well).  There is always so much to buy to prepare for the season, which is why I love shopping at Meijer!  I can find everything I need there, so don’t have to worry about running all around town(and loading/unloading the kids from the car).  It’s pretty fantastic.
On this particular shopping trip I had to pick up a box of diapers. Â My go to diapers are always Huggies, and this time I decided to purchase Huggies Little Snugglers. Â I love the GentleAbsorb Liner and the wetness indicator to let you know it’s time for a new diaper. Â When Autumn was a newborn the umbilical cord cut out helped protect her belly button. Â The fact that it is hypoallergenic and fragrance-free is great as well.
As you can see Autumn approves of them as well.
I also decided to pick up some Huggies Natural Care Wipes, because, lets be honest, you can never have too many wipes.
After I finished my shopping I got home and unloaded my groceries, my mind on all the holiday celebrations that were coming up.  Which got me thinking about how fortunate to live a stable life.  Providing gifts for friends and family isn’t something that is stressful for me, like it can be for some.  For some families, after paying the bills, there is little to no cash left over.  It’s not just presents families are having a hard time purchasing.  Did you know  that a Kimberly-Clark study showed that one in three moms have a difficult time providing clean diapers!  One in three!  They have to choose food/bills or diapers.  Plus diapers aren’t covered under food stamps or WIC.  It makes my heart hurt. That friends, is where Meijer and Huggies come in.
Have you heard of the Huggies No Baby Unhugged program?  This program helps support the littlest ones in our lives.  Be it through a hugger program at a local hospital, or by donating diapers, they strive to help our littlest loved ones.  Huggies knows the importance of hugs  so a child’s emotion and physiological well-being.  Their diapers and wipes are inspired by a parent’s hug.  They want every child to feel comfort and cared for when using their products.
Right now through January 2, 2017, if you purchase a pack of Huggies diapers at any Meijer store, Meijer will donate $1 and Huggies will donate a day’s worth of diapers to the National Diaper Bank Network! In total, Meijer will donate up to $10,ooo  and Huggies will donate up to 150,000 diapers to the National Diaper Bank Network through the Huggies No Baby Unhugged program.
Just think of how many babies you could help! Â This is the fourth consecutive year these two companies have teamed up to give back during the holiday season. Â Plus with the new Huggies Reward App, you can even donate your reward points to the National Diaper Bank!
The No Baby Unhugged program inspired me to find other ways to spread some holiday cheer (besides singing loud for all to hear). Â I live in an amazing neighborhood with wonderful people, so decided to start there. Â One family in particular came to mind, who is going through a rather trying time. Â So, Â while I was shopping at Meijer I picked up some fun holiday themed items to make a gift basket.
So what did I include? First off some mugs.  I am a firm believer that you can never have too many mugs, as is evident of my overflowing cabinet.  Next up, we had to find something to put in those mugs.  I was super happy to find some small boxes of hot chocolate so those got included too.  Since we were kind of going with a “kitchen” theme I found a super cute hand towel to add in.  Finally what gift basket is complete without some chocolate?  I found this super yummy chocolate peppermint bark to put in as well.  Finally, I got a super cute small cardboard try, the perfect size for holding all of the goodies (it even came with some cellophane wrap).
I packed it all up, got the girls together, and we headed over to our neighbor’s house to drop of our goodies. Â I really wanted it to be a surprise, so we left it on their porch and then returned home.
Hopefully they’ll be surprised and it will bring a smile to their face.
Now, I want to challenge you! Â
Find a way to spread a little holiday cheer to someone else in you life. Â It could be a friend, a neighbor, or a stranger. Â I’d love to hear how you like to spread the cheer, so leave a comment below to let me know!
