*I have a partnership with Growing Roots Subscription Box. I received this box for free in exchange for my thoughts and a review. **
I recently stumbled across a new subscription box. While reading a few blogs, I saw one who had done a review on Growing Roots Subscription Box. I thought to myself “hey, that looks like a cool box”. So imagine my surprise when I headed to Bloom (an event for new and expecting moms put on by the Detroit Moms Blog), and saw the founder there!! We got to talking, and I knew I wanted to get one of these boxes. Be sure to check out the bottom of the post for a 25% off code for my readers!
As a former teacher and high school counselor, the founder of Growing Roots was able to see that building a positive foundation early was vital. After seeing her expecting sister’s empty nursery books shelf, she started to think about what a new mother needs? How could she help parents provide a strong foundation for their child? Thus, Growing Roots was born. Each month you will receive a curated box in the hopes that it will provide a monthly dose of inspiration and to help families grow roots and a foundation for their children so they will someday have wings to fly.
Before I get started with what was in the box, I have to mention how excited Annabelle was when she saw this box on our front porch. When I told her the package was for us (and not dad) her eye lit up!
Wildflower Seeds
Isn’t there something just so calming about flowers? Although I tend to have a bit of a black thumb, I still love trying to grow flowers. Annabelle and I had a fun time planting the seeds, so here’s to hoping they bloom. 😉
Be Cool Aloe Vera Spray
Nothing is worse than getting a sunburn. Now that is summer, and we are trying to log 300 hours outside, we will be spending lots of time in the sun. Even though we wear (and reapply) sunscreen, sometimes burns happen, and this would be great to help soothe. I have used aloe vera gel in the past, but this also includes witch hazel and essential oils.
**Note: because we have cats and cats and essential oils don’t mix, I have not tried this.**
Natural Sunscreen
Today, lots of people are trying to move towards more natural sunscreens. This sunscreen, made by the Bad Axe Soap Company (yay for Michigan made products) and is made with Non-Nano Zinc Oxide (which means it won’t be absorbed into the skin), bees wax, coconut oil, and carrot seed essential oil along with a touch of lavender essential oil.
**Once again cats + essentials oils= no good, so I have not been able to try this. It does smell amazing though**
Jelly Beans
How cute are these Jelly Belly jelly beans! Open in case of Tantrum… how great is that? Annabelle has been begging me to open them so she can have a few.
Mermaid Popsicle Holder
This is such a fun and practical idea. The top of the mermaid tale is open allowing you to slip a popsicle or ice pop in. Now you’re little ones hands won’t get super cold!
Summertime Activities and Ideas
I think this is my favorite item in the box! It goes GREAT with my #300hoursoutside challenge. We’ve already looked through a few of the coins, and can’t wait to do more! They are great for ages 3-10, but I think all ages would love them!
So, have I sold you on these boxes yet?? If you want to check them out, then use promo code SPRINKLE25 for 25% off!
