Today I am linking up with Leslie for 10 on the 10th.
When is your country’s birthday?
We celebrate our independence from England on July 4, 1776
What are your country’s colors?
Red, white, and blue
Do you wear those colors on Independence Day?
Yep. I usually try to make some 4th of July dresses for the girls, but this year we went with tie dye.
2020
2019
Do you fly the flag at home? Do you decorate?
We do not fly the flag (although I would like to start), but I do decorate the mantle, and the front door a little.
How do you feel about wearing the flag?
Wearing a shirt with a picture of the flag is ok, but a shirt or shorts that looks like it’s made out of a flag, is a little strange.
How do you celebrate your country’s birthday?
Usually my parent’s neighbor has a big party. Then at night he (along with my dad and a few others from the neighborhood) shoot of a firework display. This year the party was cancelled, so my parents had us over for a mini party.
What is your favorite patriotic song?
God Bless the USA. I have memories of sining that song every year in elementary school
Do you visit the cemetery for Memorial Day or Independence Day? Any family members in the military?
We do not visit the cemetery. No family members currently in the military, but my dad was in the Navy.
How do you vote? Absentee, early, or day of?
I vote day of. After I had a check delivered four months late when trying to join a moms club I don’t like putting anything important in the mail.
What is your favorite patriotic holiday food?
My parent’s neighbor used to make fried onion rings. Those were awesome. I mean not really patriotic, but only had them on the Fourth of July.
