When my friend Beth did this post, I knew I had to get in on the action! Ten things I’ve wanted to do! This is different than my monthly goals, or my seasonal bucket lists. Some of the items I may never cross, while others have a little more of a chance. Surprisingly enough, it was sort of hard to write this post. I guess there really aren’t tons of “big” things that I want to do.
#1: Get a tattoo (or two… or three)
Ok, so…. I have wanted a tattoo for about a year or so now. The more I thought about what I wanted, and were I wanted, I realized I’d actually like three. Folks this is big. I’m not exactly a rebel (though I did go through a slight “punk” phase, and still enjoy that sort of music). The craziest thing I did was get my cartridge pierced in college, so… yeah. Now I just have to get the hubs on board. If I do ever end up getting them, I’ll be sure to post about it! 😉
#2:Go to a blogging conference
I always see people posting awesome things about blogging conferences. Most of the conference I see are not anywhere near me here in MI, so getting to them isn’t going to happen. But a girl can dream.
#3: Meet fellow bloggers
While we’re on the subject. I would love to meet some of my fellow bloggers. While I am lucky enough to have hung out with a few (thanks Detroit Moms Blog) there are still quite a few I have yet to meet.
#4: Take piano lessons again
You may or may not know, that I took piano lessons from 4th-ish grade til about 11th grade (I had to quit because marching band, youth group, dance, and school in general did not leave enough time for practice). Now that we have my parents piano I love sitting down every now and again to tinker away. I’m glad to say I can still read the music, but my skills aren’t what they used to be.
#5: Run a marathon
I am always in awe of people who run marathons. I actually enjoying going for a quick run here and there, but don’t know if I have what it takes to train for a marathon. I did a 5K a few months after Annabelle was born, but other than that, my running is pretty limited. My biggest problem is that with two girls at home I don’t have a ton of time to go for long runs regularly.
#6: Couples Vacay
Do you know what sounds fun? Going on a vacation with a bunch of friends (and their significant others), sans kids. I’m talking about going someplace like an all inclusive resort. Where I could read all the books, and everyone can just relax, soak up some sun, enjoy some adult beverages, and sleep. Really. I think it sounds amazing.
#7: Visit Europe
And by visit Europe I mean go the UK, maybe France, and with , and maybe Germany. Other than Canada and the Dominican Republic (to Punta Cana where were went on our honeymoon) I have never been out of the country. I regret never studying abroad in college. I wish I had taken a summer to do that. So if you are reading this, and are in college, and have the opportunity, do it.
#8: Go to every US state
If we are talking travel, I’d love to visit every state in the good old US of A. If I sat down to fill out a map, I would probably have a few filled (we traveled from MI to CA and back for a 3 week vacation the summer before 5th grade. The same trip that I broke my wrist at the Grand Canyon [from falling off a play structure at playground of the camp we were staying at]. It was long trip but fun). I would actually like to start from scratch with the girls. We have yet to travel out of the state with them. Wait… I take that back. We did take a quick trip into Ohio when we were near the boarder to pick up some beer that can’t be bought in MI.
#9: Take a dance class
Not only do I want to take piano lessons, I would also love to take a dance class again. Every time I watch DWTS it makes me miss dance. I regularly dance around the house when I have the music playing. This is something I actually hope to do next year, since Annabelle’s studio offers adult lessons. My thoughts are either tap, jazz, or hip-hop.
#10: Harry Potter movie marathon
I love Harry Potter. I remember reading the first book as a senior in high school, and just falling in love (I’m still convinced that my letter got lost in the mail). I have read the entire series probably close to 7 times. I would re-read it whenever a new book came out, and many other times. I have never sat down and watched all the movies. This would be something that I’d have to do sans Matt since he isn’t a fan (I know, gasp, right)?
