DIY Gift Card Holder

Gift cards are a great Christmas gift.  I know lots of people hate giving them, but most people love getting them (Target and Kohls are my personal favorite).  Being able to go to the store and buy something I may not normally get is lots of fun!

Why not spruce up your gift card with a home made holder?  It’s easy, and a great way to use up scraps of scrapbook paper you may have lying around.

Step One:
First you need to cut your paper.  See the pictures below for the sizes.

This piece I consider the base.  It is what you will glue everything onto.  I suggest using rubber cement.  Also, the paper I used for the base didn’t exactly make a clean fold (in the last pictures you can see white where the folds are).

Step Two:
Fold your 4″ x 6 5/4″ piece of paper at 2 1/2″ and 5″.

Step Three:
Cut a triangle into the piece that is 2 1/2″ x 4 1/4″

Then fold three of the sides.  This will become the pocket for the gift card.  You want the pocket to be 4″ x 2″ when folded.

Step Four:
Take your piece of  paper that is 3 3/4 x 1 5/8 and cut a triangle at the top.  Glue this piece to the pocket.

Step Five:
Glue your other cut pieces of paper to the base.

Step Six:
Glue the pocket to the inside of the base.

Step Seven:
Use paper or ribbon to wrap around the holder, and you’re done 🙂

Don’t forget to check out all of the wonderful holiday ideas in our link up!  There are so many fun traditions to read about!  I may pick a few of my favorite posts to highlight ;).

Also, I have finally started working on Annabelle’s quiet book again, so I will be posting updates about that. 🙂
