Today I am joining in with Holly and Patty for their monthly link up, Monthly Musings. I will admit, I almost didn’t join in this month, since the topic is Spring fashion…. something I do not know much about. But I decided to give a go anyways. 😉
Must have spring pieces?
I would say my must have spring pieces are maxi skirts and graphic t-shirts. Throw a jean jacket on for those chiller days, and we are good to go. The picture here is from a few years ago, but I will still wear this outfit cause I love it.
Must have accessories?
Light weight scarves. Once again, I bought these a few years ago (when I challenged myself to wear a different outfit everyday), but I still love how they add a little something to an outfit.
Transition to spring wardrobe?
Here in Michigan there usually isn’t too much of a transition. From February- Early April it’ll be freezing one day, then warm, then cold again. And just when you think the snow is done, there will be a freak snow storm on Easter. I suppose to transition I start wearing brighter colors mid March-ish.
Favorite colors to wear in the spring?
Turquoise and purple are a favorite. I hope to wear this shirt more (even if it is a few years old). Now that I am done nursing I don’t have to worry about easy access to the girls.
Spring fashion advice?
None. I am not the most fashionable person, and pretty much live in the same shirts/pants on rotation. Maybe next month I’ll make it a goal to wear a different outfit every day again.
Do you change your makeup in spring?
Nope. I don’t really wear a much make up as it is, so not much changes in the spring.
Do you change your skin care?
Not really. I suppose I do try to add moisturizer with SPF since we tend to be outside more. I am actually trying to figure out a new skin care routine for myself. I want to take better care of my skin but have no idea where to start. I also like to stick to items I can get at the drug store. I’d love to hear what kind of skin care routine you use!
A favorite spring scent?
This one is hard… I don’t really think I have a favorite for spring. I suppose I really love the William and Sonoma scent, and I try to t do a simmer on the stove here and there so our house smells nice. Really though I love opening up the windows and just getting the fresh air smell.
Budget tips for updating wardrobe?
I got none, since I don’t really remember the last time I bought myself something to wear was. I suppose I would say go for classic items, that won’t go out of style? Look for items that can go with more than one outfit.
Will you be wearing dresses this spring?
Maybe?? I do love dresses. I love them a lot. And I have quite a few (most are from my pre-kid days). But they aren’t the most practical thing when chasing three young kids around.
