It’s crazy that we are already half way through January. Autumn went back to school this week (after a month off), and I’m trying to get back into the swing of homeschooling Annabelle. It was a pretty low key week around here, which was nice. Today’s Friday Favorite’s post is kinda taking on a “Five on Friday” theme.
What we ate
Sunday: Cheddar Broccoli Soup
Monday: Leftovers
Tuesday: Pot Roast
Wednesday: Sloppy Joe
Thursday: Leftovers (with homemade bread. Which is the easiest bread I have ever made.)
Friday: Stromboli (maybe… I haven’t really decided if I’m sticking to this)
Saturday: Pizza
What I’m crafting
I’ve started doing a little water color. My ultimate goal is to scan these pictures in, do some small edits/clean it up (maybe, my graphic design skills are pretty basic), then create stickers using my Silhouette. I hope to use the stickers in my planner. The water bottle below will be to keep track of how much water I drink. If they turn out well, I’ll share the file here.
I finished the hat for Annabelle, which unfortunately ended up being a little too small. Thankfully it fits Autumn. I am working on a new hat for Annabelle, but I’ve already decided I have to frog (pull out a rows for those of you non-knitter/crochetsers) a bunch of it since I don’t like how it’s turning out.
I also made myself a new textured hat. I used a few different stiches, and really love how it turned out. I still think I need to make a few changes, but I plan on putting the pattern on the blog eventual. And making a few other hats. Friends, I have a hat making problem. Ever since I crocheted Annabelle her Hello Kitty hat years ago, I can’t stop.
How my screen time is going
Once again this screen time is focusing on my phone usage. Sunday-Tuesday I was still with out my computer so I was using my phone much more. But still, some days this week were good, some not so much. Most of the time on my
Sunday: 3h37min
Monday: 3h33min
Tuesday: 4h31min (I was having a bit of a rough day, and kinda scrolled IG a bunch)
Wednesday: 2h58min
Friday: 2h44min
I would say only about an hour or so of each day is time spent on FB or IG. Lots of time spent on Pinterest, either looking for meal ideas or teaching ideas.
My computer is back!
I am so happy I have computer back. It had started to give me the “blue screen of death”, meaning there was a fatal system error. After the first time it did it I tried to get ahead in my blog and transfer over all my pictures. Unfortunately it kept on crashing, and then I couldn’t get on the internet, so I wasn’t able to get ahead in the blog. Thankfully I got all my pictures and documents transferred so Matt was able to reformat it. Now I’m working on getting everything I need back on my computer, and hopefully I will be able to get ahead again.
What I’m reading
I am finally trying to get back into reading. I have always loved getting lost in a good book. Nothing beats curling up with a blanket, beverage, and a good book. For the past few years I have had such a hard time finding the time to read. I’ve decided that every day we will have some silent reading time while Aubrie is sleeping. So far it’s been going well.
All this to say I am reading Outfox by Sandra Brown. It is a story about FBI agent Drex Easton on the hunt for a serial killer, who kills wealthy women, taking their fortune in the process.
On the Blog
In case you missed it, on the blog this week:
I hope that everyone has a fabulous weekend! I’ll see you back here on Monday!
