Salted Maple Toffee Crunch

Ingredients
  

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons maple flavor
  • 3-4 sleeves graham crackers
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Line a 9X13 pan with aluminum foil. Spray with cooking spray and then place a layer of graham crackers down.
  2. Put the butter, sugar, and water in a sauce pan and cook over medium heat until it reaches 285°. You will need a candy thermometer for this.
  3. Once it reaches 285°, remove from heat and stir in salt and maple flavor.
  4. Pour over graham crackers. After a minute sprinkle with the chocolate chips. Wait a few more minutes for the chocolate chips to start melting. Then us a knife and spread the chocolate chips around.
  5. Top with nuts. Wait for about 1-2 hours then break into bite size pieces.
