Ooey-Gooey Salted Caramel Brownies with Pretzels

So last week I shared a photo of some brownies I baked on my IG page.  Friends, these brownies were so good!  Ooey and gooey.  Fudgy.  Oh, and did I mention they were filled with salted caramel sauce??  I know all the rage it PSL, but when fall hits, I crave a salted caramel mocha. Therefore I try to incorporate as much salted caramel sauce into my life as possible once it turns to September, hence the creation of these salted caramel brownies with pretzels.  I’ve also made these Oreo brownies, which are filled with caramel, and are equally as delicious.

But onto the recipe for today!

These easy to make salted caramel brownies are made with pretzels for an added crunch. They are so rich and fudgy. #chocolate #fall #saltedcaramel #brownies

To start line a 9″ X 13″ pan with parchment paper.  Parchment paper is a must.   These brownies are sticky, and you would have a hard time getting them out of the pan without it.  Take your favorite brownie mix (enough for a 9 X 13 pan).  After mixing place half the mix in your pan and bake for about 10 minutes.  After baking take out of oven and allow to cool for about 10-15 minutes.

Top this with chocolate chips and broken pretzels.

Then with some homemade salted caramel sauce.  If you don’t want to make homemade you could probably use store bought.   The store bought isn’t quite as thick, so may be a bit runny.

Cover that with the rest of the brownie mix and bake for another 20-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean (well not really clean, since it will have caramel on it, but no wet brownie dough).

Then test your patience.  You need to let this sit for a few hours (or overnight) before eating.

Then cut and enjoy.  They are super sweet, so cut small, or big I guess.  You do you! 😉

What about you?  Do you have a favorite fall treat?
