I hope that everyone had a fantastic weekend. I am so excited that I am finally getting a chance to post this unicorn blanket I made for Annabelle. After seeing that I crocheted/knitted both her sisters a blanket she requested I make her own as well. I had been wanted to try C2C crochet and figure this would be a good time. And because I am crazy I decided to make my own pattern up. So here it is. A free corner to corner crochet unicorn blanket pattern.

Free pattern for a unicorn c2c crochet blanket. c2c crochet blanket with free printable graph to follow.

To start out you need to be familiar with how to C2C crochet. You can find so many tutorials on Pinterest, so I didn’t include one here.

MATERIALS

Size 8.00 mm (US 11) crochet hook

You will need the graph. I started off by making my pattern on graph paper, the was able to use excel to create a printable graph. Just don’t pay attention to the fact that the background color of my blanket doesn’t match what I actually did.

You will also need yarn. I tried my best to link the yarn I used, but as a threw out the labels, I am not 100% sure.

Yarn for mane: Two balls of Super Bulky Bernat Baby Blanket Yarn (10.5 oz, 220 yards)
Yarn for outline: Two balls of Super Bulky Bernat Baby Blanket Yarn (10.5 oz, 220 yards)
Yarn for unicorn body: Two balls of Super Bulky Bernat Baby Blanket Yarn (10.5 oz, 220 yards)
Yarn for eye: one ball of Super Bulky Bernat Baby Blanket Yarn- if you can find a small ball of yarn it would probably work.
Yarn for horn/nose: one ball of Super Bulky Bernat Baby Blanket Yarn (10.5 oz, 220 yards)

Crocheting the blanket

To read a C2C graph you will work from the bottom right corner to the top left corner. I wish I had a picture closer to the beginning but I don’t.

If you notice, I have a few balls of yarn that are the same color. Sometimes I found it much easier to pick up a new color of yarn rather than carrying that same strand of yarn throughout the work.

So basically you just keep on trucking.

It took me a while to get this done since I had to wait until the kids were in bed to lay the blanket out. It is much easier to work on if you lay the blanket part out on a flat surface.

I also found it super helpful to cross out the row (remember they are at a diagonal) after I finished one.

After all your hard work you will be rewarded!!

Also, it is very, very hard to take a picture of somewhat large blanket. The baby wanted in on the pictures.

As did the cat!
