Weekend Recap

I hope that everyone had a fabulous weekend!  We had a pretty busy weekend, but it was fun!

All last week I was prepping for a BBQ we had on Saturday.  It was tons of fun to have friends over and socialize.  One friend brought over his five year old daughter, and Annabelle was mesmerized by her.  It helped that she was the sweetest thing ever while playing with Annabelle.  She was so patient and did whatever Annabelle wanted to do.  Cutest thing ever!

Here are some pictures from our party:

I made these to hold our forks and napkins.  I figure I can put them on display for 4th of July as well.

I wanted to paint stars on them, but ran out of time.  One of our friend pointed out the one on the left looks like the France flag… Vive la France!  Just kidding… I guess I really will have to add some stars to them.  I may put a coat of modge podge on as well.

For the food we barbequed hotdogs, hamburgers and corn.  We also served smoked ribs.  Everyone brought a dish to pass, so it was quite the spread.  I’m mad I forgot to take a picture.
And of course, for desert there were cookies, cake pops and mini cupcakes.  Thank you everyone for you kind words from Friday about my cookies.  I am very happy with how they turned out. 🙂

We ended up with lots of left overs.

I also made cake pops and mini cupcakes.  Whenever I make cake pops, I bake the batter in one cake pan, and one mini muffin tin.  A whole cake makes a whole lot of cake pops to roll and dip.  Ain’t nobody got time for that.

On Sunday we went to Matt’s grandparents to celebrate birthdays.  It was lots of fun, but I didn’t take any pictures.

Then on Monday we marched with my moms’ club in our town’s Memorial Day Parade.  It brought back memories from high school when I used to march in the same parade in the marching band.  I may or may not have been tempted to high step when I heard the cadences….

Overall a fun but busy weekend!
