Easy Ground Beef Cabbage Soup

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 2 celery ribs
  • 4 carrots
  • 1 large onion
  • 8 cups chopped cabbage
  • 2 14oz cans stewed tomatoes
  • 8 cups ham or beef stock
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

  1. Brown the meat in a stock pot.
  2. Dice the celery, carrots, and onions. Add them to stock pot. Saute them a little with the beef.
  3. Add the stock and herbs.
  4. Add the cabbage.
  5. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for about an hour.
