**I am pleased to be partnering with Goldfish Swim School to bring you this post. While they are providing lessons free of cost to me, all thoughts and comments are my own.**
As a parent I want the best for my children. I want them to try their best. I want them to make mistakes and learn that it’s O.K. I want them to work hard and experience success. But, more importantly I want them to have confidence in themselves. Confidence to try new things. Confidence to take that leap, even when they are unsure of what the outcome will be. And Goldfish Swim School is helping my girls to build that confidence.
Both Autumn and Annabelle love swim lessons. Throughout the week Annabelle will ask “is it Tuesday yet?? I want to go swimming!” and which point Autumn will reply “Swim!! Swim!!” I have loved watching my girls progress in their swimming lessons. Autumn has grown so much! When we started she pretty much just wanted to be in my arms the whole time. But now? She kicks and pulls on her own. She loves the dips. And when it is her turn to do the superman glide to Mr. Arman, she does it without hesitation.
Annabelle is making progress as well, but more importantly, she is building confidence in her abilities everyday. After lessons she tells me how awesome she did. She’ll say “Mama! I did so good on my kicks and pulls today!” or “Mrs. Brooke can tell I’m really trying on my roll overs.” I love that praise the teacher’s give is more focused on the effort as opposed to the final result. Recognizing the effort Annabelle is putting into swimming has her beaming with pride at the end of the lesson. This confidence extends outside of swimming and into everyday life, which is amazing!
If you are looking for a way to help build your child’s confidence, why not see if there is a Goldfish Swim School around you? You won’t regret it!
