We made it through another a week! Although, to be honest, I can’t believe that it is already June 16th! Half of June is already gone?? Say what??
ONE: Father’s Day
So, this weekend is Father’s Day. If you are still scrambling for an idea, check out this cute, but simple idea! I did it last year with Autumn, and also did it for Matt’s first Father’s Day with Annabelle.
If you go to the post, I have a free printable of the words in the background, so all you have to do is paint/stamp your little one’s feet. Â Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
TWO: #300hoursoutside
I’ll probably be updating my #300hoursoutside challenge pretty regularly on these Friday posts. This week the weather was pretty brutal (read hot and humid) so unless we were in the water, going outside wasn’t so much fun. We did get to the zoo with my friend, and at the end of the trip I let the girls play in the “splash pad”, aka fountains. Â Which they thought was a blast.
Also, while we were at the Zoo we were at the lemur exhibit, and one was right against the glass, just watching all the kids.
Autumn was convinced it was a cat. She also refused to listen (and got quite upset) when I told her the red panda wasn’t cat. Which, from what I remember from psychology, has something to do with her schema and assimilation. Example, we have cats, there for every other furry animal is also a cat. That’s assimilation.
We have logged about 47 hours of outside time to date. Â Only 253 hours left to go…
THREE: Dress Making
One of my goals for this month was to make myself a dress, and I am happy to say I have almost accomplished it! The only thing I have left to do is hem it up! While it isn’t perfect, I’m pretty proud of myself, since I made my own pattern up. Â I had to make a few adjustments here and there but overall it turned out.
The main reason I made this dress, was so I could make a Fourth of July dress. Â I wanted to test if my idea would work, and since I got the fabric above for free, figured it would be good to use as a test.
FOUR: Humans, Bow Down
I actually picked up a book from the library when we were there signing up the girls for the summer reading program! It’s by James Patterson, and is called Humans, Bow Down. I’m only about 100 pages in, but I’m liking it. Here’s hoping I can finish it before I have to return it….
FIVE: On the Blog
I was busy this week again on the blog.
I shared a little insight into how I have started using Google Analytics to asses my page views
Shared how proud I was of Annabelle for moving up at Goldfish.
And even though I forgot and joined a day late, got my Kids Behind the Blog post in!
I shared this yummy California Caprese Bites recipe
