Today I wanted to share with you how easy it is to throw a fun and festive fourth of July BBQ. With a little bit of prep work, you can host a great party!
So what are some of the main thins you need for a rocking party? To start off with snacks.
Now, this really doesn’t need to be anything fancy. My mom let me borrow a Fourth of July table cloth, I made a fruit tray that looked like the American flag, and bought some red, white, and blue M&Ms. Throw in some chips and salsa, chips and dip, watermelon, and veggies with humus (brought by a friend) and you have a great assortment.
I also added some ribbon and a bandanna to a basket to use as a silverware holder.
Next up for a great BBQ is the meat. In the past we have smoked something, but decided to keep it simple, and went with hot dogs and burgers. But, I did decide to take the toppings up a notch.
Besides ketchup and mustard I included tomatoes, lettuce, bacon, avocado, tomatoes, and caramelized onions. I also warmed up a can of chili in case anyone wanted a cony dog.
Finally, you’ll need to have some desert! What is better on a hot day than ice cream? I bought three flavors of ice cream and prescooped it the night before. By placing cupcake holders in cupcake tins.
Then I also prepped all the toppings by placing them in ramekins or mason jars. I also made some Firecracker Cake Pops (seen on the plate on the left).
And some simple cupcakes. Because no party is complete without cupcakes. Plus it added some festiveness to it!
And of course good friends! Are needed for any party. 🙂
