I’m linking up with Mandy over at House of Rose for her Inspire me Please Blog hop. If you’re stopping on by from the blog hop feel free to leave me a comment, I love hearing from you!
Once Valentine’s Day passed us I started decorating our mantel for St. Patrick’s Day. We have been trying to curb our spending so this is my cheap frugal way of decorating. It has been decorated for a while now, but what with Annabelle’s party, then her getting sick on her actual birthday I didn’t have time to take pictures and write a blog post. I was finally able to get some pictures the past few days, I hope you enjoy them. 🙂
Once again I created three different “focus areas” on my mantel.
Number One: This is the center focal area. The big picture is always going to be the same (it’s what we used in place of a guest book at our wedding), so I try to design around that. I hung some green and white beads on the picture to give it some flare. I really wanted to do this, but getting to HD in the cold with a baby was low on my list. On the far left I have the same vase that I used for my Valentine’s Mantel. I put some green and white pom-poms in it (which I had from my time at MSU) and then a headband with shamrocks (which I had laying around from a few St. Patrick’s Day ago). I then made a new block letter out of scrapbook paper and modge podged them onto the back of the Valentine’s Day blocks. I’m really digging these reversible blocks!
Number Two:
On the far left I made shamrocks (with the left over paper from the block letters) and taped them to wooden skewers (you know, the kind you use to make kabobs). I then put them into an empty beer bottle. I wanted something with a little height that was simple. Next to that I wrote out the Irish Blessing in a spiral using “fancy” letters. Done, and cheap! I’m happy with how it turned out.
Number Three: This one was probably the easiest of them all! I used pick monkey to create the Not Lucky Blessed sign, then just staggered pictures next to it. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
Check back in a few days for pictures from Annabelle’s party! Don’t forget to leave a comment! 🙂
