Although Annabelle’s birthday isn’t until March 1st, we did her smash cake early. I knew I wanted to take a bunch of fun pictures which would have been really hard to do during the party. I also wanted to make sure she didn’t have an allergic reaction to the cake, because that would make a not fun party.
I ended up making a banana funfetti cake, although it was more like a bread than cake. I combined a few recipes to make it without an egg, and with only a small amount of sugar (the frosting provides more than enough sweetness). The top kinda of fell apart while I was taking it out of the pan (either due to it not being cool enough or because I opened the over door a lot to check on the cake), but since it is covered in frosting you can’t tell ;). Annabelle had a fun time playing with the cake, but didn’t seem to care for the taste all that much.
I am really liking how the pink ombre theme is coming together!
