Sorry my posts have been a bit a sporadic lately. Has the baby’s due date is getting closer, life is getting busier. This weekend Matt and his mom worked on painting the nursery. It’s almost done, which means we can move the dresser in soon (and I can put all the baby clothes away).
Today I want to share with you something new I am trying in our house. I talked about it a bit before on the blog, but I am doing (well trying to) more themed “learning” activities with Annabelle. Every two weeks I start a new theme, with activities and books that go along with those.
Here are the themes I chose to focus on.
I am using Pinterest to keep track of all the different activities. Each theme has it’s own board, you can follow me here. I have tried to pin a variety of activities, some for older children and some for younger, so there are a lot to pick from.
I also came up with a lesson plan to use. I don’t plan to do an activity in every area each day, just a few each theme.
For example, here is my lesson plan for this theme.
I just choose a few activities to do, so I don’t feel too much pressure.
I’m not gonna lie, I’ve been a bit slow to start, but here is the body tracing.
I started by tracing Annabelle, then after we talked about the different body parts, and labeled them on the tracing.
After we did that, I let her paint her tracing.
So join in if you’d like. I’ll try to post pictures of some of the activities I do. 🙂
Linking up with Beth!
