I hope everyone is doing well! We have been on vacation Up North where internet service isn’t exactly stellar. We had a great time, and even knocked a few items off our bucket list.
I love visiting Up North. It may be because there are tons of other people there to watch my little one so I can have some time to myself.
In fact… I was finished Harry Potter (number three), a James Patterson Book (Private Vegas), A Casual Vacancy, the J.K Rowling book for adults, and a funny little book I picked up at a book store in town called Toddlers are A**holes (brought to you by the twitter handle @Honesttoddler).
First off, the J.K. Rowling book was so different from Harry Potter. Obviously, it was written for adults, but still much different. Lots of adult themes. There are also a ton of characters to keep track of (I suggest writing the names of the couples down and their occupations to help keep things straight).
Second… Toddlers are A**holes is a hilarious book. Like, laugh out loud, almost pee your pants funny. If you aren’t a fan of swearing and some crudeness, then it’s not for you.
**Also, don’t get me wrong, I love my daughter, and thank God he has blessed me with her. Some days though are tough though, and this book talks about those days in an incredibly funny way.
Back to vacations photos.
We went on the pontoon boat a few times and even went swimming in the lake.
Annabelle had a blast on the boat (as long as we had snacks). We even went swimming in the lake. My MIL took pictures of us in the lake I will have to get.
We also visited Lake Michigan while we were there. We went to a fun beach outside of Traverse City, with a stream that runs into Lake Michigan. We had lunch and just enjoyed the weather. It was lots of fun. Annabelle had fun playing in the sand as well as playing in the stream and lake.
Bonus, we knocked something of our bucket list (visiting a beach)!
Here is the view looking at the lake. The landforms in the background are the Sleeping Bear Dunes (which we climbed last year).
We really didn’t go on any other major excursions. Matt and I had a date day where we hit up some shops in town and went out to lunch. So overall a great time!
