So I realize I have been completely slacking in my color activity
series. With life getting busy, and the weather getting nice, we have
been spending lots of time out and about. While I will still try to
post “educational” activities, they may be completely random. 🙂 My goal is to do a few activities a week related to a book, but no promises.
Here is another sorting activity.
This activity is super easy to make. I’ve had everything I need for the past month or so, and finally got around to it. Not only does it help with matching colors, but it also helps strengthen the hand muscles (which is great for fine motor coordination)
All you need are some clothes pins and two sets of paint chip cards, in what ever colors you choose.
All I did was use one set of paint chips to create the paper clips (by tracing around the color, cutting it out and taping it on). You can then match them to correct color on the second set of paint chips cards.
See, easy!
Annabelle is still a bit young, so opening the paper clips is a bit challenging. And, if I’m being honest, all she has done so far is take all the clips off the cards and place them in her Doc McStuffins car and push them around.
You can also use the same idea and create an alphabet matching game. Write the uppercase letter on the clothes pins, and the lower case letter on the paint card. Or maybe some number matching. The numeral on the clothes pin and the number word on the paint card.
