Question and answer posts are so much fun! I am pretty stoked that Beth from Our Pretty Little Girls invited me to participate in this question and answer post!
Four names people call me, other than my real name
1. Dani. This is what most of my friends from college call me.

Roommate picture from Halloween Party- Senior Year |
2. Mom 🙂
Other than that, everyone just calls me Danielle
Four jobs I have had
1. Camp counselor. For two summers in college I worked at a day camp. They hired lots of counselors from over seas, it was a pretty fun gig (despite the awful pay).
2. Day care teacher. I taught 3 year olds at a day care for a little over a year.
3. Cafeteria Supervisor. I worked in my dorm’s cafeteria for four years. After the first year I became a student supervisor (which meant I was “in charge” of the students working on my shift. It was actually a pretty fun job.
Man that picture brings back memories…
4. Teacher. Before becoming a mom I was a first grade teacher at St. Fabian Catholic School. It was cool to work here since it is the church where I was baptized, received my First Communion, Confirmed and Married at.
And of course the one I have now… mom. 🙂
Four movies I have watched more than once
1. Ten Things I Hate About You. Even though it has been a while, I could still probably quote this whole movie. It was a staple at high school sleep overs. It is where I first discovered Heath Ledger (still so sad about his death). Back when I was teaching I invited some of my teacher friends (who are 6ish year younger than me) over to watch this movie (since they had never seen it). The made a comment about how “old” the prom dresses were. I was like “aww… those where like what I wore”.
2. Elf. This has to be one of my favorite Christmas movies. Remember “the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.”
3. It’s a Wonderful Life. Another one of my favorite Christmas movies. Makes me cry each time.
4. Harry Potter Series
Four place I have lived
1. Metro Detroit
2. East Lansing, MI (when I went to MSU)
Really, that’s all. I grew up in the same house and now live across the street from my parents home (not in the same neighborhood, but across from it. Like a 1 minute drive).
Four places I have been
1. Dominican Republic. This is where we went on our honeymoon. We stayed at an all inclusive resort (Paradisus Royal) and it was wonderful!
2. Niagara Falls (both the Canadian and US side). As much as I hate to say it, the Canadian side is better.
3. Grand Canyon. In the summer before the fifth grade my family went on a cross country trip. From Michigan to California, in a pop-up trailer. I still wonder how my dad talked my mom into that. Fun fact… I broke my wrist at the Grand Canyon by falling off of playground that was at the campground. Due to elevation changes they couldn’t put a real cast on it, so by the time we got back to Michigan it was already partly healed. They had to re-break it and set it properly. They did this with no pain medicine. They told me “we are just going to push on your wrist a little”. Lies….
4. 45 Parallel.. the 1/2 way point between the equator and North Pole.
Four places I would rather be
1. Somewhere closer to my best friend (she lives in Virgina now).
2. Someplace tropical
Four things I won’t eat
1. Anything super spicy
I can’t really think of anything else I won’t eat, but I’m sure there a ton of food I would consider weird and not eat.
Four of my favorite foods
1. Chocolate… all types
2. Homemade Chicago Pizza
3. Cheese
4. Did I mention chocolate?
Four TV shows I watch
*I watch far too many TV shows, but here are a my four favorites*
1. Vampire Diaries. This is a guilty pleasure. When I was teaching at St. Fabian some of the middle schoolers watched this. At first I was like “man I watch a young show”. Then I realized that there were a ton of adult themes in the show, and maybe middle schoolers shouldn’t watch it.
2. Grey’s Anatomy
3. Big Bang Theory
4. Dancing With the Stars
Four things I am looking forward to
1. Christmas
2. Being able to build snowmen with Annabelle (“Do you want to build a snowman?”)
3. An upcoming wedding
4. Annabelle’s second birthday
Four things I am always saying
1. No thank you
2. We use gentle hands with Snickers (our cat)
3. I love you!
4. During the holiday season: “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear”.
Four people I ask to join
1. Amanda, Tickled Pink
2. Natasha, Natasha in Oz
3. Jessica, Little Baby Garvin
4. Amy, The Farmer’s Wife
