Today is International Giving Tuesday. I wanted to take a moment to talk about a fundraiser I will be doing in February.
As some of you know I have a disorder called Neurofibromatosis (NF for short). Neuro-whosit-whatist? In short this disorder causes cafe-au-lait spots to develop, neurofibromas to grow under the skin, and tumors to grow on nerves. Every case is different some people are barely affected, while others have worse cases. MRI’s and EGG’s are done on a yearly basis when younger, then are done less often (as long as there are no tumor growths seen). Although normally not cancerous, chemo and radiation or sometimes done to help shrink tumor growth. Surprisingly enough, 1 in 3,000 births are affected with NF, yet it is a relatively unheard of disorder. You can read here for more information if you would like.
So why am I telling you all of this? In February I will be participating in the Cupid’s Undie Run, where I will be running, outside (in February, in Michigan) in my “undies”. If you are looking for a new charity to donate to click here to donate to my Cupid’s Undie Run. Thanks! 🙂
