So, some of you may know that Matt and I have a square foot garden in our backyard. It’s a great way to grow a variety of vegetables and herbs without taking up a lot of space. For dinner over the weekend we made BBQ chicken drumsticks with sides from our garden!
To make the chicken I microwaved it first for about four minutes, then Matt put it on the grill. Every 5ish minutes he slathered BBQ sauce (store bought) on it, and turned them.
Both the beets and green beans were from our garden. They were so tasty!
I didn’t take any pictures of how to cook either but its pretty simple. For the beets, peel, rinse with water and quarter them. Place them in a pot of boiling water with some salt and cook until tender (about 20 minutes). For the green beans simply cut of the ends and place in boiling water for about 5-10 minutes.
The lettuce in our salad was also from our garden. Did you know that you could eat beet leaves? We use them in our salad whenever we eat beets. They really add some yummy flavor to the salad.
So, let’s see what kind of yummy things you make!
